Re: Official Warpath Mock Draft

In fairness to Campbell17, I probably should have given more advance notice that the draft was starting today.

But...life ain't fair (and he's still got the Jags)

Chiefs are on the clock

well he can still take the blame for the raiders not drafting Howie's boy.

Re: Official Warpath Mock Draft

I'm involved in this? Wierd, I don't remember signing up for this. I've got no idea about college players, it's a waste of time because it's such a crap shoot.

Every party's got to have a pooper!

Now that I'm here, if he's still there when my Jets pick, the Jets take Chris Long.

I trade jdlea my first for first, third and fifth. I'm not supposed to be in this, but my name was anyway, and the deal is done!

Crap. I thought we had replaced you TMC.

Ah well I effed this up. I can see why almost none of the mods wanted to touch this

It's ok though, like I said Gmanc is running it now. He'll swoop in and save the thread tonight.

Re: Official Warpath Mock Draft

Well, I've now inherited Malcolm's picks, (with mod approval) and I need to amend that trade. Upon further review, the points match up if it is only a 1 and a 3 from the Saints for the Pats 1. That is now the trade that took place.

Re: Official Warpath Mock Draft

My bad, I didn't know I was involved in this. But I guess I'm on the clock with the Chiefs- and they are taking Matt Ryan. Despite needing help on the Oline, with Jake Long gone they feel it would be a reach to take any other Olineman that high. Brodie Croyle isn't the answer at QB, and a franchise-caliber player like Ryan can't be passed on.

I assume this means that Chris Long goes 6 and puts the Saints on the clock...

With the 7th pick in the NFL Draft, the Saints select: Sedrick Ellis, USC.

And that's why we came up here, we thought we could get Ellis at 7 and he fell to us!

I know, I didn't even realize that Chris Long was still on the board when I picked for the Falcons, but truth is that they got Jon Abraham who had 10 sacks last year and in 2007 they used the 8th pick to select Jamaal Anderson, who right now has all the makings of a bust but still they have to find a penetrating DT that can cause panick closest to the snap, and Mike Smith knows what a top-rate DT can do for a defense. So if Dorsey can have a Haynesworth/Henderson like impact then passing up Chris Long will be worth it.

I thought maybe I could use Long as a DT for the time being but the truth is thats a strech and Dorsey has done a lot to prove to scouts that he has a clean bill of health.

SkinsnCanes and the Ravens are on the clock...

Also, we need to update the initial post with the last 3 picks.

With the first pick in the 2008 NFL Draft the Miami Dolphins select: Jake Long, Offensive Tackle, Michigan

Slingin Sammy you are on the clock!
With the 8th pick in the NFL Draft, the Baltimore Ravens Select Brandon Albert, linemen, University of Virginia.

They decide that QBs will be around in later rounds, and that McNair can still perform. They throw some youth into their oline to open up holes for McGahee and buy the QBs some time. A versatile player that will fill in where hes needed.
