| A 2nd & 5th Round Pick for Lito?! Eagles weigh options for Sheppard - NFL - Yahoo! Sports At the end of a recent yahoo article it says that Pro Bowl CB DeAngelo Hall was traded for 2nd & 5th round picks. Is this an good or bad option for the Redskiins? Would you pay that price for a young Pro Bowl caliber CB? If so how does that free us up in the draft? Can we move Carlos Rogers to safety? Lol. Who knows? All Im saying is that at the end of the day, it is a possibility. Discuss.

| Re: A 2nd & 5th Round Pick for Lito?! I'd pay a 2nd and a 5th if I was very confident Lito was healthy and would hold up well over the course of a full season. But I don't see how you can be confident about that. Hall went for that price because he's a maniac malcontent. Lito's not quite as good as Hall, and he's pretty darn injury prone. |

| Re: A 2nd & 5th Round Pick for Lito?! also figure in the huge contract that Hall got. While it doesn't have anything directly to do w/the trade terms, it affected the Falcons ability to deal him. Teams knew his agent was asking for big $. That, combined w/his attitude might've lowered the price as Hall might be worth a 1st round pick in terms of his ability. Lito, like Schneed said, is worth a 2nd & 5th if healthy, but there's not a good history there. Who knows, the same was said of Springs when the skins signed him. He's still had his injury problems but has been our best cb for 4 years. I'd rather not enter into the lito sweepstakes, there is a good crop of cb's in this draft & I think we'll nab one in the first 3 rounds. |

| Re: A 2nd & 5th Round Pick for Lito?! he's to injury proned for a #2 I think...I would rather draft a CB with that pick who might play 16 games for us.

| Re: A 2nd & 5th Round Pick for Lito?! Funny, Matty and I were just discussing this this morning. Depending on how the first couple rounds shake out, the 3rd pick in either 2008 or 2009 might be traded straight up for Lito. I'd rather they took advantage of a rather deep draft at DB (Bowman in the 5th!)

| Re: A 2nd & 5th Round Pick for Lito?! The Eagles are all about homegrown talent. Why would they go to free agency to acquire a Pro Bowl CB when they already own the rights to a Pro Bowl CB? In this case it is caveat emptor...if the Eagles are telling you they want to discard him more than likely it's for good reason. I believe what they are saying. I have no desire to acquire this guy for anything over a 4th round pick.

| Re: A 2nd & 5th Round Pick for Lito?! They're not going to get a D. Hall type of deal. I'm thinking a 3rd and maybe another later round pick at best. |

| Re: A 2nd & 5th Round Pick for Lito?! Llito Sheppard, when healthy, is well worth a 3rd round pick. right now, our starters are Smoot and Springs. Sheppard is about a light year ahead of Smoot in talent. and i think he is younger. if healthy, why not? you know what you get with him. drafting a corner is risky business( as a starter)

| Re: A 2nd & 5th Round Pick for Lito?! i'd say a third round pick and if he plays a certain number of snaps, Id agree to give up a 5th next year. |

We are pretty good at drafting corners though. Why give up another pick for another injury prone CB. I am the minority, but I believe that Springs has injury problems. I am the last person who wants to see a WR moved to CB because Shepard, Springs and Rogers were injured at the same time. On paper it would be one helluva DB corps, but it is not enough bang or stability for the buck. | |
