| Re: The official 2008 draft discussion thread Nice pick from everything I've heard about him. Only true #1 in the draft was how I've heard him described by people who know. Now we have 2 more picks this round. I thought Devin Thomas might be the guy at #21. I like it. Props to the FO.

| Re: The official 2008 draft discussion thread I really like Thomas at this pick. Good value for a guy a lot of folks thought would go at #11 overall. As for the next pick, yes, I think it'll be Campbell. |

| Re: The official 2008 draft discussion thread Wow, Devin Thomas in the second round. Great size and speed, excellent pick. He will definitely help out the redskins immediately.

| Re: The official 2008 draft discussion thread I'd like to see Dan Connor with one of our two remaining picks in this round.

| Re: The official 2008 draft discussion thread I was opposed to taking a wideout @ 21, but getting Thomas @ 34 is great value. GTripp is going to poop himself though. |

| Re: The official 2008 draft discussion thread Agreed well played by the FO. I think this will turn out to be a good draft overall. I wonder how the Snyderatto bashers will spin it.

| Re: The official 2008 draft discussion thread He will for sure. But this is a good pick at #34. He's big and familiar with the WCO. I don't buy the "one year wonder" argument.

| Re: The official 2008 draft discussion thread I guess we got good value for Devin Thomas but I'd rather have taken someone like James Hardy or Jordy Nelson. I just don't feel comfortable that he had one good season, he had 6 receptions two years ago. Jordy Nelson just went to Green Bay. |

| Re: The official 2008 draft discussion thread Trade down? Are you kidding me? The draft is about quality not quantity. We were stupid for giving up #21. WE get two mid second round picks in a lame draft year? Unless we go for a WR, we are not going to get quality people this draft. Although we might be able to still land a decent LB, CB, or S that will make a positive impact on us. Anyone picked up after round 3-4 will just be a waste of space or practice squad fodder for a season or two then released. At #21 we still could have landed a decent D linemen or guaranteed getting the best WR or S in the draft. I know it is a relatively thin year for talent, but you still have to go for top quality. More picks when the pickings are slim doesn't help you. |
