| Re: Colt Brennan profile I'm a little biased about Brennan, i'm out here in Hawaii. Just remember, in that game against Georgia, Georgia is probably in the best conference (SEC) and the Rainbows had no running game. If Georgia wanted to win, all they had to do was stop the passing game. Colt is a great addition. the 3d QB position is his.

| Re: Colt Brennan profile Howdy Boys...First time poster ![]() There is misinformation floating around the internet in regard to how he peformed at the NFL combine. Below is what is posted on the first page of this thread: Pick Analysis: Brennan saw his stock fall after a disappointing combine performance Fact is Brennan threw extremely well at the combine. The Honolulu Advertiser was just one of a few (the media) that actually witnessed Colt's workout. See the following: (I'm not able to post links yet, so I'm pasting unedited text) Posted on: February 24, 2008 at 6:53:00 am Brennan credited with 100 percent accuracy in today's drills INDIANAPOLIS — In an astonishing display of accuracy, Colt Brennan was credited with completing 100 percent of his passes during drills today at the NFL Scouting Combine in the RCA Dome. Of his 21 passes, 20 were caught. A chest-high pass was dropped, but it was so accurate Brennan was credited with a completion. "This is one big hurdle I cleared," said Brennan, who endured criticism because of his weight and perceived lack of arm strength. But Brennan reported to the combine weighing 207 pounds, and today he showed his arm strength (two of the completions were for 45 yards) in disciplines ranging from 5-yard outs to streak patterns. Brennan worked out with a group that included UH teammates Davone Bess and Ryan Grice-Mullins. One of the drills was a route in which the receiver ran 5 yards straight, then cut to the left. Brennan and Bess were randomly paired for that play, which was the Warriors' money short-yardage play the past two seasons. Brennan easily completed the pass to Bess. Brennan drew applause from the players and coordinators when he completed a 45-yard pass to DeSean Jackson. It was a difficult throw in which Jackson ran straight 10 yards, cut 5 yards to the left, then sprinted to the right. The report on his drills showed 19 of Brennan's passes were perfect. Two were slightly off the mark, but were caught, anyway. "I was really happy," Brennan said. "There are so many misconceptions, so many untruths out there, about what I am as a quarterback and what I can do. It's mostly those Internet sites. Their perception is heard, and it's like 'telephone.' People around the country hear these things and assume them." Only players and drill coordinators were allowed on the field. Scouts were in the stands. Reporters from 25 news agencies, including The Honolulu Advertiser, were allowed to watch from the luxury suites. [end of paste] And lastly, Colt is not regarded as a GOD in Hawaii just because he can throw the ball extremely well. He's a super nice, down to earth, charismatic kid whom is very loyal. I have no doubt whatsoever that Washington DC will love Colt Brennan! P.S. Nice to see a Colt Brennan thread that isn't overwhelmingly bashing him ![]() L8r |

For those of us who watched Brennan all year we know he has serious talent. Only those that haven't (or only watched one game) are the ones that think poorly of him. ps- Georgia should have been national champs.

| Re: Colt Brennan profile When I watched his highlight tape on SI.com, one thing I noticed was the fact that he really does have a quick release, not just in the throw itself but in the mechanics. In watching a lot of QB's I've noticed that they always seem to do that pat with the ball right before they throw it, and in turn it can cost the QB a second or two in delievering the football, which we all know is critical time at the NFL level. In some cases it can also tip off the safety and lead to a pick. Colt on the other hand has a case of see window hit window, which should help him at the NFL level. The sidearm release worries me a little though, but hopefully Z-Man can do with Brennan what the Texans failed to do with another sidearm QB in Carr. SI.com - NFL Draft 2008

| Re: Colt Brennan profile Yep, his release isn't exactly ideal for the NFL. It's far too low to make it over most Dlinemen. If you watch Colt, he backs up right before he throws a lot to give him the extra room. I certainly don't hate the pick. He'll have a small contract and time to learn from a vet and one young but experienced QB. Personally, I would have rather gone with Andre Woodson who was still on the board, but the Colt pick is far from terrible. When you start getting into those late rounds you're looking for talent that needs a few tweaks -- colt falls into that realm.

| Re: Colt Brennan profile I'm just happy that the Skins picked a QB who has success in his college career rather than one who has decent measureables, but had a less than stellar career.

| Re: Colt Brennan profile Did anyone else catch Brian Baldinger's take on Brennan last night on NFLN? This didn't make a ton of sense to me but whatever. He basically said with JC coming off an injury, he wouldn't be surprised if at some point this year JC goes down again and Brennan takes over and "never looks back". |
