Well shit fellas maybe he's doin all this so we get the chance to grab him

... at least for me it's tempting to just write the o-line off as plain old "bad" and say until we recycle four-fifths of the guys out of there were destined to be an average to bad offense. But GTripp's game analyses, which are invaluable IMO, basically show that two guys struggled the worst - Rabach and Thomas. These guys probably start again based on what we're hearing, and the improvement we desperately need along the o-line starts w/ them IMO. Yeah i still want a stud RT drafted and would like to see JJ compete on the interior, but Rabach and Thomas have to rebound or '09 isn't going to be much different from '08 when it comes to protecting JC.

Interesting side note: Andre Smith and DeAngelo Hall have the same agent

Anyone see the USC kicker David Buheler work out? 25 Bench Press Reps and a 4.6 40! He benched more then Michael Oher and Eugene Monroe.

Andre smith is dropping his draft stock right now, if he falls to us we unquestionably have to get him, he can play guard or tackle

If he just left the combine without telling anyone, that may raise a bunch of red flags for a bunch of teams. Do the Skins see those flags or do they trade down to the late teens-early 20s in hopes that he falls even farther?

That's impressive, but does that mean he's a good kicker?

Of course. Everyone knows that 40 times and bench press are the greatest predictors of success in the NFL Especially next year with the new overtime system in which you have a race in the 40 yard dash and a bench press in the middle of the field.

Re: Database Update: Consensus Projections, DE, OT, and LB ranking links

It's been a bizarre few days for Alabama offensive tackle Andre Smith, considered by most to be a top five pick. Immediately before the second group of offensive linemen were about to start their workout, an official announcement was made stating Smith had left the combine headquarters unannounced. After a long search, Smith was found 30 minutes before the workout began. The announcement went on to say Smith and his agent were giving conflicting stories as to the reason of his disappearance. Sources later said Smith's interviews with teams have been going horribly. He's been inappropriately dressed and has been giving a number of conflicting statements as to why he was choosing not to workout at the combine. Several offensive line coaches have already suggested Smith be removed from their team's draft board and there's no doubt his draft stock is falling.

At least nobody can ever say, "That dude's just a kicker" anymore... this dude is a beast!

Thanks for the link Smoot! Informative stuff. Definitely looks like A. Smith and H. Johnson are headed in the wrong direction.

William Beatty/OT/Connecticut: One of the nation's better pass blockers proved he is one of the best athletes of all the offensive linemen in attendance. Beatty weighed a stout 307 pounds and completed 27 reps on the bench. He ran his 40s in just over five seconds, then looked very smooth during position drills.
I've liked this kid for a while. If we trade down for extra picks, I'd love to snag him. I think he'll end up mid-2nd round. Notice the snipet about PASS blocking...
