| Re: Do You Think We'll Trade Down In The Draft? I wonder what teams have given up in the past trading up to get the 13th overall pick in the draft. Obviously a lot of variables are involved (team need, players available, depth of position in that particular draft, etc.). I'm just curious how much you guys think we could get in return for the 13th pick. I apologize I'm asking a question and not replying with an opinion. I've just been curious to know how much we could help ourselves by trading down. HAIL!

| Re: Do You Think We'll Trade Down In The Draft? I think that they shoud definetly trade down if they can get a late first and early to mid second round pick. I would rather have two quality picks than one high value pick.

| Re: Do You Think We'll Trade Down In The Draft? If we sign Haynesworth, i dont see us having the cap space to keep Taylor OR pay sign a lineman with the 13th pick. I think we would try as hard as we could to trade down. With so many good players likely to be available, and with this draft sorely lacking in depth (ive read alot of 3rd and 4th round talent will go in the 2nd), it should be easy to find a trading partner. Hopefully, we dont trade too far down. I think its imperative that we draft a 1st round quality OT in the 1st round... i wouldnt pick Duke Robinson above 25 though. his stock has been falling dramatically. I also think guard isnt that vital of a position for us if Jansen can move there. We really need to draft an OT with our first pick. AFter that, id look at center, guard, and LB with picks we have/acquire in rounds 2-5.

| Re: Do You Think We'll Trade Down In The Draft? I think that trading down for an OT later in the first would be a good move, but has anyone thought about grabbing a backup RB with the 2nd round pick we'd pick up, although it wasn't a very impressive group at the combine maybe a Shonn Greene would be a nice pickup, after all we don't exactly look scary at tailback.. |

I would be interested if there was a good quality back avaliable. However what would you do with Rock and Ladell. If you get a back in the 2nd round, he's gotta be an immediate impact player either as starter or the third down back, or possibly split carries with Portis. Would you trade Ladell?

After all, by advocating trading down, on the down side you're talking about risking not getting a top talent at all at a position of need while paying 2nd Round money to a 4th Round talent. | |

| Re: Do You Think We'll Trade Down In The Draft? I don't think the Redskins should trade out of the 13th overall pick, for a while I was in favor of it, but with Andre Smith's antics probably dropping him to 13th, I think we should take him. A team shouldn't assume that a guy who is immature at 22 will never grow up. Put him around strong leaders (Jason Taylor in particular) and I think he could become a dominant OT.

- We should've kept Marcus Mason - Let's sign (Jerry Porter/Deuce McAllister/insert old washed up veteran that doesn't fill any need) for the vet min.

| Re: Do You Think We'll Trade Down In The Draft? Turn that mid-high first into a low first and mid second, keep our third, and take best O-lineman available each pick. Come away with a starting guard and tackle, and a center who will be a starter in a year or two. |

| Re: Do You Think We'll Trade Down In The Draft? I'm not sure that trading down is the right thing to do. If we had Jimmie Johnson or any other compitent front office type I would be all for it but last year the Redskins traded down and at the time it seemed like a good move but looking back isn't Sam Baker whom the Falcons selected with the pick they got from the Redskins just the type of player everyone is saying we need right now? |
