| Re: Andre Smith still leads in the Database at #13 Somethings wrong, I mean 19 reps? I guess he really is a football player though I wonder if we draft him should he fall to us after a trade down. i mean right now it's suggested that six tackles could go in the first round this year and that includes Eben Britton and James Merideth on the back end so it's not like he'll slide to the second round. Still you got to wonder I mean Vinny wasn't scared off by Kelly's (and possibly Davis's) workout performances so you never know.

| Re: Andre Smith still leads in the Database at #13 bad pro day numbers. 19 reps? 5.3 aint great either, but it's less important.

We look at nineteen reps and say "whoa, he's not nearly as strong as other guys" but anyone who can put up 225 12 times or more is plenty strong to play in the NFL. He's still in the top 0.3% of males at his age, obviously. If he does fail in the NFL, it will be for other reasons. Perhaps his relative bench totals and 40 time are indicative of a bigger problem, but there's no correlation between combine (or pro day) bench reps and NFL success anyway, so I'd say the kids stock probably shouldn't fall any because of this. If anything, this validates his story at the combine about not wanting to work out, and was probably a good business decision in the long run. Had he put up a 14 spot at the combine, he might have dropped out of the first round. Now, he's still going to be the third or fourth tackle taken. Of course, reason #1 why the draft process is good: some team would have taken this guy with the first or second overall pick after the season ended.

| Re: Andre Smith still leads in the Database at #13 I think Chris Samuels only did 19 (or fewer) reps at his pro day as well

| Re: Andre Smith still leads in the Database at #13 The fact that he showed up out of shape to the combine is reason enough for me to say no thanks. We need players that WANT to play and be their best. SS -- Does your sig mean you want that future bust LB from Ohio State? =p

| Re: Andre Smith still leads in the Database at #13 It means he's someone I'd consider as a weakside linebacker if we had a later pick in the draft, but I'm continously changing that...later today I'm updating to a new player (For the record, at 13 I want either Oher or Andre Smith and I probably won't waver from that.)

Right now, if we stay at 13, my votes for Oher or Maualuga. I think Oher can be a franchise LT and Maualuga could be the next Ray Lewis. Both would make it hard for me chose to trade down if they were there at 13.

| Re: Andre Smith still leads in the Database at #13 At #13 I'd still take Alex Mack. Various scouting reports have said the following: " The best o-lineman in the draft PERIOD." * " Reportedly the only lineman who could contain B.J. Raji on the first day of practice at the Senior Bowl." * " Drove Raji off the line." * " Could play any position on the line except LT." * " The only center in years who deserves to be taken in the first round." Keep Heyer at RT. He could very well work out, if not, draft a LT next year. In the meantime you've gotten the best center prospect to come along in years. You have a player who can play multiple positions. You have improved your o-line this year. LB or DE in the third.
