Thanks! I'll trust you on that.

Then I hope the Skins are taking a close look at Sidbury for our 3rd Round pick because he is a great athlete and one heckuva football player. We know he can rush the passer and if he can cover as well he could be a solid SLB.

BTW, Connor Barwin would be a great pick here but, for purposes of this thread, I'm assuming that he'll go in the 2nd Round.

He could well go in the 1st, but he plays DE. Unless you wanted to draft him as a TE and then surreptitiously move him to DE at training camp. Very tricky.

I assume you're talking about Barwin. My thought was to move Barwin to SLB. He's a great athlete who should be able to make the move.

You really think he's worked his way into the 1st Round? If so, good for him!

I really just meant that for purposes of this thread he wouldn't work given his position, whether or not he is a 1st round prospect.

Oh, now I get it! Doh, I plumb forgot what we were talking about. Yeah, good idea: now he's magically a TE. Sidbury, too.

Barwin played TE before playing DE.

Trade down with the Colts for their 27th pick, their 3rd round pick this year, and their 2010 3rd and 5th round picks. With the 27th pick--select Pat White from WVU. He becomes your PR/KR and hedge if Campbell stinks this year. Then he battles Colt next year for the starting job or replaces ARE as your 3rd WR...

Is it really a battle when Colt is involved? Couldn't we just call it a submission?

Fair point...can we say they "spar" for the starting job?

We'll just say that PW will graciously move to WR in '10 as not to prevent The Champion from taking His crown.

I made a mistake in bringing up Sidbury and Barwin.

Ironically, I read that some teams are looking at Barwin as a TE.

You wouldn't want to deal both, even in a hypothetical, because both play the nose and Haynesworth is going to miss some (or many) snaps. The problem we currently face is that we really only have Griffin to play the 3 technique. Montgomery can do it but is better suited to the nose. Jerry would give us a dynamic player to get quick pressure up the middle (especially with the attention to Haynesworth). Ideally I think you'd move Golston, but you're not getting a 2nd, probably more like a 5th/6th (and then maybe you have to ask if you are going to be able to replace the value you get from Golston).

I actually think Jerry would be a good pick even if you weren't barred from taking DE, OL, or LB. If the Jason Smith, Eugene Monroe, Michael Oher, Everette Brown, Brian Orakpo, and Aaron Curry are gone I'd go Jerry and come back in the 3rd at OL.
