Per the thread idea...good one.

Since the final game in SF I've thought we would add legit OT talent no matter what (unless Vinny is really incompetent). Try thinking of it this way: we have 3 OTs on the roster, one is very good when healthy but aging and recovering from injury, one is older and very questionable to play through a season, and the third is very young, totally raw and somehow injury prone even in his youth. IMHO it would be the height of irresponsibility to go into this season w/ the current crop of OT talent. However it doesn't mean we have to draft one necessarily...I think the FO has been wise to stay stingy since the big signings cuz post-draft we'll see some nice talent on the market i think. Anyway, per the draft I'd like to see us throw caution to the wind a bit and go w/ BPA, though I don't know what the hell that means for Vinny. I mean we could end up w/ a player who wouldn't otherwise have been drafted for another 2 rounds as was the case w/ Rinehart LOL.

For anyone who thinks that we'll take Oher at 13th, wake up. It will never happen. We are going DEF in the 1st round unless Andre Smith falls to us!

Another reason we need O line help; Zorn is the head coach & playcaller. In order to get his system running & gain the respect of the team (& the danny), he needs the personel. Right now our RT spot is so weak! I don't know if Heyer or Jansen could even make the rosters of half the nfl teams, much less start.

Hopefully both of those guys come to camp much improved, but I don't expect either to be starting. I think a decent rookie can win that job right off the bat & improve the line.

So true. But on the flipside of that, snyder and cerrato are probably trying to make themselves look good with their free agent decisions. They may try to stack the defense so it makes it more likely that Haynesworth reaches or gets close to all of the high expectations set for him. And cerrato and snyder are the decisionmakers - it all depends on what they want.

Whether they planned it or not - snyder and cerrato's success will be linked directly to Haynesworth's success because of all the attention that it grabbed.

I think the only thing that trumps this would be - an offense that lights it up next season.
