| Re: Meet Kevin Barnes I was about 30 yards in front of "the hit" on that fateful hot upset victory against cal. Guy is a physical corner... I'm freakin excited.

| Re: Meet Kevin Barnes Jeez Vinny loves the guys w/ injury history. This kid is pretty small too, like Torrence but probably w/o the speed Torrence has.

| Re: Meet Kevin Barnes Extremely high character, intelligent player. Leads by example. Has a London Fletcher-like intangible quality (on field coach, other players have tremendous respect for him). Personally, if we were to pick a Maryland guy I would have probably preferred Edwin Williams but I think this is a really underrated choice. Good insurance I think if Rogers doesn't return. But more likely, it expedites Smoot's departure. I know they like the progress Tryon made, but I think Barnes automatically passes him on the depth chart and gives Smoot a serious run at the nickel slot.

| Re: Meet Kevin Barnes After watching Meredith's epic slide, I'm more willing to give a pass to the FO on that one. Bottom line is they have one really good corner and one really highly paid corner. After that there is actually not much there. Smoot is no good, Tryon has shown nothing, Westbrook has never gotten past the practice squad. They lacked size and (honestly) depth at the position. Especially if Barnes can play the nickel slot that Shawn Springs played (and no one else on the roster has really played at all) then it could actually be a solid pick. I still wonder why Meredith is falling so hard.

| Re: Meet Kevin Barnes Yeah and considering our starting QB only scored half that, this guy Barnes could be a prodigy! LOL. Barnes seems like a smart pick. Shawn Springs is gone.. Carlos wants out, and Smoot isn't getting any younger. |

| Re: Meet Kevin Barnes 16. (80) Washington Redskins The pick: Kevin Barnes, CB, Maryland What he brings: Barnes possesses adequate size and is smooth in his hips, which allows him to change directions quickly. The one thing we are really impressed with is Barnes' ability to track and play the ball. However, Barnes needs to improve his physicality in run support. How he fits: We really like this pick because Barnes is a player who would likely have gone higher had he not had a significant shoulder injury early in his senior season. He will provide nice depth and give Washington one of the deeper defensive backends in the NFC. http://insider.espn.go.com/nfl/draft...ory?id=4101875 |

| Re: Meet Kevin Barnes It's really not that bad of a pick, though they're really try to replace the physicallity of Shawn Springs. I'll give the pick B.
