| Re: Most Likely First Round Bust Yes, it is early to "assume." That is why I used the verb "guesstimate" in the thread, meaning "take a stab just for fun."

| Re: Most Likely First Round Bust Agreed, but let's thank Buffalo for going Maybin over Orakpo at #11!

| Re: Most Likely First Round Bust Darrius Heyward-Bey is likely to enjoy some level of good QB play before the end of 2011 in Oakland, and I would not tag him as a likely bust, even though the longer he withers in Oakland the more likely it will become. Hakeem Nicks will bust in New York. Aaron Maybin has a good chance to bust in Buffalo. Jeremy Maclin, I don't see him ever climbing the depth chart in Philly. Even with three receivers, they'd have to let some of their better players go to make room for him, and that would be a mistake. Larry English could wash out very, very easily in San Diego. Freeman is a huge question mark, because I don't think he's in a good situation in Tampa. I do favor his potential though over, say, Stafford, who I think as crazy as this may sound, will not bust because he's in a much better situation. Sanchez, I think, is in a better situation than Freeman, and will have a league average career. But if I'm being asked for just one name of whom will fail epically, I'm going with Percy Harvin in Minnesota.

| Re: Most Likely First Round Bust I can't believe you guys think Maclin is going to be a bust. No freakin way. You could argue he was the best wr in the draft. I tend to look at a college players production and Maclin was a VERY VERY productive on offense. He got open, caught a ton of passes and got in the end zone. Plus he's a stud in the return game. Plus he catches the ball with his hands. He'll do just fine in Philly. Bey is a different story. I can not believe he got drafted so high. I'm actually shocked. I follow MD. football and he's got a long long way to go. |

The thing I hear about Maclin is that he's just very soft. With Heyward-Bey, he's a deep threat, but he's a hard nosed guy who can take that slip screen and get yards after the catch, or turn the drag route upfield. With Maclin, I just think injuries and an unwillingness to run a certain part of the route tree to the best of his ability is going to get him at the next level. Plus, I think he's blocked in Philly by a better WR, DeSean Jackson, who himself is just about to break into their starting lineup.

kinda easy to be productive when you come out in a 5 wide set every play and all you run is drag routes and there is NO WAY anyone could reasonably argue that he was the best wr in the draft this year

| Re: Most Likely First Round Bust He isn't the best wideout but he is going to the best team if you are a wideout. He will be getting single coverage all year and Philly refuses to run at times.
