Plus in Free Agency is Guards Chester Pitts and Cris Kuper from Houston and Denver, so they already know the offense. And with our second rounder, we'll probably get whatever position we don't get with our first round pick. I personally think we should get Bradford, because all I keep hearing is how he is "super accurate" "good at getting rid of the ball and releasing it quickly" how he can "make all the NFL throws" and is "accuate when he is on the run as well". When I look at a QB the number one thing I'm looking at is is he accurate? Can he get the balls to his receivers? Thats this guy. This guy doesn't come out every year. Russell Okung and Anthony Davis type LT's come out pretty much every year. Plus you look at some of the LT's in the NFL and a lot of them are found pretty much from all the rounds of the draft. QB's that are good are typically in the first round. We've had Jason for 5 years and of the 4 he's played he really hasn't shown me he can be the QB that could take us to the Super Bowl. He's showed me that he can be a back up and fill in if the starting QB gets injured, but thats it. I have more bad memories and moments of Jason than positive moments of him (the time against the Giants he threw and interception 5yds passed the line of scrimmage really sticks out, as well as the games against Dallas, Pittsburgh, Giants where he held onto the ball way way too long, where he should have thrown it away. Pretty much every game which he throws a pass that ends up being a yard short of the first down, instead of going deep.Against the Saints when he was picked off against Vilma and Giants when he stepped way to far back in the pocket and Osi stripped him and ran the fumble in for a score. The only positive moment I have of Jason is when he threw that bomb against the saints a year ago to win, then again that seems to be the only highlight of jason that espn and nfln seem to show when they talk about him)

So I say we draft Sam Bradford and make him the opening day starter, and deal with the OL in FA and what ever we don't get there, get in the draft, which we will. Who knows maybe Bruce campbell of Maryland falls to us in the second round or Bryan Bulaga of Iowa or Jason Fox (he should definitley be there) or a Ciron Black or maybe who knows a Trent Williams could fall just enough for us to trade up
I hate this attitude towards the offensive line. If you look around the league, a lot very good tackles in the league came from the first or second round (Jake Long, Levi Brown, Ryan Clady, Jeff Otah, D'Brickashaw Ferguson). With as much problems this team has had with that unit, I don't understand how someone could "hope for x or y player to fall to us" in order to build the line. I would hope that Shanahan, who drafted Clady (I believe), would find a way to draft a lineman in the first round. People forget that the reason Miami and the Jets have had reasonable success with young QBs, is because of the offensive lines they've built with first round tackles.

Surely it would take more picks to smooth it out, but
The goal would be to come away with two quality lineman this year, then next year be in a position to draft Jake Locker, (the next Elway), plus an elite Left Tackle next year, via our own 2011 1st that will probably be pretty high. The Pats could get Gerald McCoy this year with our pick to replace Seymore, and have Santana replace the injured, and possibly done, Wes Welker.
We have to trust that the Raiders will suck next year, a longshot, but we could have, two top five picks next year.
It's going to take a while to rebuild this team, let's face it.

anything that would help us get locker next year if Campbell isn't working out work be fantastic. i hope campbell works out. i hate most of the top rated qb's coming out this year, setting up next years draft for the better is a change of pace for us and i like it.

I wonder what he was told about his expected draft position. Seems like a mistake to my non-expert eyes.

ESPN had a good tidbit, with the fear of a lockout in 2011, even its highly unlikely, alot of college kids are having to factor that in to the decision whether to declare or not.

And if there isn't a lockout and an agreement is um agreed upon...there could be a rookie cap starting with the 2011 draft which is probably what the college players are more concerned about

^ Then I guess that this is the year to be especially wary of underclassmen in the draft, as a higher percentage of them may be motivated more by money than by readiness.

Re: Redskins pick 4th in the draft

Give me either

Okung (Oklahoma State)
Ingram (Alabama)
A. Davis (Rutgers)
Jahvid Best (California)

I would go in this order assuming Berry, and Suh are gone. I would definitely NOT pick a QB! We have Brennan, who respectfully deserves a shot. We all know J. Campbell can play, as a matter of fact he is a stud. With the crappiest offensive line we have he set career numbers and if it wasn't for the lack of protection he wouldn't have as many INT's. (see 2008 season as far as ball security goes, give him protection and he will secure the ball) Now I would likely take Okung and maybe find some other O linemen in free agency. Second round we could find a steal at running back. Ingram should be gone but if not then we take him or Best and if he is gone gotta go with Stafon Johnson! He is a hell of a back, trust me I have seen him play every game! As far as QB's go if there is a question regarding J. Campbell or Brennan then 2011 draft we take Locker no doubt about it. We should sign Campbell to a three years extension and that should give Locker a 2 year sitting window to learn the system and to take us to far better places!

Correct me If im wrong but Mark Ingram is a true Sophomore and thus can't be in the draft. I'd be wary of Stefan Johnson, has he even come back from that lifting accident? If not I'd sort of like to see him play again. And I don't know how you can call Campbell a stud.I'm not gonna hate on him I think he's a good QB and a high quality backup if not a starter in this league. He can lead a team and he can be the QB, but I don't think he's a game changer and I would never trust him to win a game for me. With the exception of the game against the saints in 2008 I can't remember him leading us to a comeback win the 4th quarter, and I have more memories of him throwing ints during crucial drives. Now maybe a good O line fixes that but I don't think so.

As far as running backs in the second round I like Ryan Matthews from Fresno state. He led the league in rushing and if he's there i think he'd be a good pick; however, I'm gonna keep going with my man crush on Noel devine. He hasn't said if he's coming out yet but I think the guy's gonna be a beast and a game changer. Not to mention he might make watching the Redskins fun...

Has the perfect scenario occured for the skins? both Bradford and McCoy go down with injuries that cause them to fall into the second round...

McCoy may not have been selected in the first round even if he didn't injure his shoulder tonight. And I doubt it's anything too serious. I'd be surprised if it hurts his draft stock at all really.

No way in hell Bradford doesn't get selected in the first. He won't last past the top 10, maybe even top 5.

Probably why he may not be playing tonite. Still, not a good thing to injure your shoulder in the last game of the season before you are to enter the draft.
