Clausen was rather unimpressive until this year, in fact he was benched several times his first 2 seasons at ND. I will admit that he did have a great improvement this season. That doesn't make me want him, ESPECIALLY at #4. Ok, you probably want me to quote some stats:an impressive 28-4 td-int ratio senior year, you don't want me to quote the rest. Bradford 36-8 FRESHMAN, 50-8 sophmore. I'm sorry I just get a feeling about these two, one good, and one, ehh just don't really feel it for him...

| Re: Mel/Todd Mock Draft 3.0 Not good. I'd like to see us go the route of '81 and draft O line and find some late round gems.

Other then that Bradford is more accurate as well as taller, but to be honest I don't know if there really is THAT much difference. Of course who knows what this front office will do at this point.

I think Clausen never beat a top 5 Nationally ranked team in all his years at south bend. To be fair to Clausen, his Notre Dame teams were not very good team. But I would have liked to have seen Clausen beat a powerhouse SEC defense. There is no film of that. Bradford had such a great (red shirt) freshman and sophomore seasons. As we all have heard Bradford most likely would have been the #1 pick if he had come out after his sophomore season. But he stayed and got hurt twice. Clausen could some day be the best pro of the two. But right now he has not fully demonstrated that on the field against top teams. so that gives Bradford a slight edge at this point. Clausen is a little on the skinny side. His arms are kind of small for a big time NFL player. It would be good if he spent some more time in the weight room, but that is not a big deal. | |

Not that it would have changed much.

| Re: Mel/Todd Mock Draft 3.0 First of all it was his hands. And second if he was a Notre Dame QB that spent most of his time in the weight room as opposed to the film room he'd be Brady Quinn.

![]() I like Bradford, I think he'll be a good NFL QB. I think he'll take a year longer than Clausen due to his adjustment from being in a spread and from having superior talent around him. I like his measurables, good Wonderlic, not really worried about his shoulder. What concerns me about Bradford is he was throwing to wide open receivers a lot, had a ton of time to throw, and had a great D. While none of these are a negative on him, it's hard to gauge how much of his success was truly his performance or was his performance a product of the system and team around him. Also, Stoops' QBs traditionally have put up very good college numbers but not had NFL success. I think this is a moot point because Bradford will likely be gone at # 1, but if Clausen was gone and Bradford/Okung are at available #4, I take Okung. If I can trade down from #4 and get Bradford in the 11-16 range I wouldn't have a problem with that. On a side note, SkinnyTee has the Skins in our Mock Draft, so I don't think you guys need to worry about Clausen getting picked at #4 there.

| Re: Mel/Todd Mock Draft 3.0 Why do people downgrade Clausen cause his teams didn't win? I think that's a terrible way to judge the guy. Did Clausen play defense for ND?????? He's was a damn good college QB. I'm just not sure I'd draft him at #4. |

My mock draft as of today has us taking Trent Williams. It's a bit of a reach I know.

| Re: Mel/Todd Mock Draft 3.0 Neither Clausen or Bradford is worth the #4 pick in my opinion. Then again, neither is Trent Williams, atleast at this point. Opinions change so much as the draft approaches and players have thier pro days. maybe mine will too. Right now, I'd be thrilled if: 1. Campbell and Brennan both impress Shanahan in camp prior to the draft. Campbell solidifies his status as the starter. 2. The Rams take Bradford 3. We're on the clock and one of Okung, Suh, or McCoy is available. Our phone would be ringing off the hook with trade offers. 4. We trade down, get three picks in rounds 1-4 and use our first four picks on two offensive linemen a nose tackle, and an explosive running back (in roughly that order).

| Re: Mel/Todd Mock Draft 3.0 ^ I am not Clausen's greatest fan but I would argue that he provides more value at #4 than Trent Williams. That said, I'm not sure that I would draft either one at #4. Should Bradford or Okung be gone, I'd be inclined to take Berry or Suh/McCoy to maximize pick value.

| Re: Mel/Todd Mock Draft 3.0 Keep in mind this isn't what I would do, just what I suspect might happen. Assuming Bradford, Okung, and Suh are the first 3 guys gone. I could see Anthony Davis or even McLain under strong consideration as well quite honestly. But I mean we're still over a month away so a lot could change, and will change.
