| Re: Mayock Thinks Redskins Could Pass on Okung... id prefer if we could move down a bit and pick up an extra pick or two i we were gonna reach value-wise on Williams. |

| Re: Mayock Thinks Redskins Could Pass on Okung... When did this guy become so heralded? It's like before I was hearing about him as a nice Right Tackle prospect. Now he's easily considered by many as the second best tackle prospect. The draft process really confuses me and makes my head hurt. In the end though I think the opinion of only one man should matter and that is Orakpo.

| Re: Mayock Thinks Redskins Could Pass on Okung... This is what I have been talking about. People (media pundits) saying Okung may not be the best fit and that there are other draft picks that are better suited for the zone blocking scheme. But I was politely told I was incorrect and that we should get Okung. Now what you people gotta say, Hmmmm? LOL. |

| Re: Mayock Thinks Redskins Could Pass on Okung... Trade down a few spots and get Williams, plus another pick, no problem. Passing Okung for Williams, not a good idea. Williams may be a bit faster, and a little quicker. But Okung has 2" longer arms (36 in.) and benched 225 38 times vs. 23 for Williams. I don't see Okung having any issues in a Zone Blocking scheme and like to have a guy that can physically man-handle a DE or rush OLB one-on-one.

| Re: Mayock Thinks Redskins Could Pass on Okung... Watch some games on Trent Williams, and then watch the Okung games...Not a freakin chance hes as good as Okung. This Williams kid looks like a RT, his kick slide is horrible and he looks really slow...This guy is rising up the boards from a combine that takes place in shorts and T's..The game tapes tell the story.....Mayock can suck it!!!! I personally felt the same way as you do about Davis but in re-watching the "tape" I started to see why he was so highly regarded. I personally like him as my third best tackle these days behind Bulaga. At around 0:11 he turns his guy out. This might not look like a fancy play to the casual observer but as my high school D-Line coach told me, if they turn you out one way or the other they beat you. I hate the screen pass at 0:19. He has a clear shot at a pancake and instead he does this weird turn-launch thing that does only enough to distract the guy for a second. 1:07 just gives up on the play because he's playing backside 1:54 Heres the punch I'm talking about. Watch as the guy gets pushed back around a foot away from the point of contact.

Also, at 306 lbs Okung should have no problem w/ zone blocking as he gets coached into it.

| Re: Mayock Thinks Redskins Could Pass on Okung... Williams could be the guy if we slide down a bit in round 1 with a trade with the Browns for instance who could send us back their one, a three, and maybe a sixth. We then try to send Haynesworth to Detroit or Tampa Bay for their two and ship Campbell to Oakland or Buffalo for a four. Net result: 1 (from Cleveland), 2 (from Detroit/TB), 3 (from Cleveland), 4, 4 (Buffalo/Oakland), 5, 6 (from Cleveland), and a 7. We suddenly have a full draft again and have added McNabb at QB. It's all good. |

Not sure anyone wants to inherit AH's huge contract, especially if the cap comes back. AH was the dumbest acquisition the Danny has ever done!!!!!! | |
