Does anyone know the rules on the allowed contact between teams and new rookies? This year could end up sucking for rookie development.

Recap of Todd McShay's conference call with area reporters.

McShay talks McDraft - Redskins Rule Blog post - Ultimate Fan Community

I wonder where the team stands at NT (as in are they comfortable with Bryant). Because they could trade down to the bottom of the first round, get Phil Taylor, pick up a QB in the 2nd, and get probably another 2nd or a 3rd rounder.

I am not buying the red flag BS anymore. All high character guys give you is a disciplined locker room, not x's in the "W" column. As long as he plays great on sunday he can hang out with Big Ben in Georgia for all I care anymore.

20 years of losing is enough.
This isn't the 80's. No matter how good they are, it's not going to do your team a bit of good if he's suspended by the NFL for alcohol related events.

You aren't buying the "red flag BS" anymore? Guess who you have a ton in common with? Dan Snyder and Vinny Cerrato. You are in good company.

Believe it or not, leadership accounts for more than you can imagine. Teddy Bruschi comes to mind.

Which way, because I've never known New England to be the type to move up in the first round.

I think you & Angry are portaying this as either/or. Sure, the kid has some bad history but he may be smart & mature enough that he'll be able to deal w/it. At the same time, I certainly agree that team can't & won't just ignore this stuff.

For the right price, it's worth the risk. I always look back at Warren Sapp as the classic case of teams overeacting, he fell back out of the top 10 due to reports of a positve drug test. We passed on Sapp & got M. Westbrook instead. How'd that turn out?

After the whole Jason Campbell era, I'd never thought I'd see another Redskin fan want to move up into the first round to grab a another QB.

What are you talking about? Even after Gibbs left Vinny and Danny were going after the high character guys.

You only need 1 or 2 leaders on the field at a time. After that you need players. Ever heard of "too many chiefs and not enough Indians"?

Think about the guys that slipped in the draft because of Red flags and went on to be very successful.

Randy Moss comes to mind.

The red flag stuff Danny and Vinny glossed over were the diva and im looking to get paid type mentalities, not the i made a mistake will i make one again type.

Teddy used to be a heavy drinker and made mistakes with alcohol when he was young, its what a lot of kids do.

Their preference would be to find a NT via free agency...but that preference might be out the window now

Re: 2011 NFL Draft

Nick Fairely is quickly becoming the Albert Haynesworth of this draft. Undeniable talent but so many "ifs" being used to describe him. "if he's motivated" "if he plays hard" "if he's ready to handle the fame that comes with being an NFL player." Still it's kind of funny seeing Marcell Dareus pass him after our love affair with Fairley during the National Championship game.
