| Re: IF We Take A QB At #10...Who Do You Want? Tyrod Taylor? I mean he's a great college QB but he'll probably be at best, a Charlie Frye, and that's if he's lucky.

| Re: IF We Take A QB At #10...Who Do You Want? Why? We can draft a QB in the second round. I think its pretty poor thinking by the FO to say our only option is to draft a QB at 10 with so many holes at multiple positions. I admit the smart thing is to draft a young guy at QB this draft, the dumb thing is to overvalue a position (which is overvalued already) and reach for a QB at 10.

| Re: IF We Take A QB At #10...Who Do You Want? As others have said.... this is a forced decision so I picked "other" only cause I rather have Dalton. I don't care how or what round, but at the #10 spot is a bit high for him. |

That said, 5th round or later, the kid is solid, mature, could return punts & maybe develop into an nfl qb. He is not a run-first qb, but he runs well.

| Re: IF We Take A QB At #10...Who Do You Want? I went with Locker, but I'd prefer to address other needs in the first. When I think of picking a QB in the first with all the other holes we have I think of the David Carr pick by Houston in 2002. I don't think he ever recovered from the lack of support crew around him. |

The earlier you draft a QB will give you the best possibility of getting the QB of the future. There are exceptions to what I have stated, no doubt, but the law of average is on your side if you draft early. You could make the same argument no matter what position you select. I just think the first round is the round to take that gamble. Yes, it is a crap shoot as with any selection for any position. The QBs further down the pecking order usually don't pan out - just saying.

Personally I have two main approaches to the QB position, at least with the Shanahan's in charge. Either draft a QB in the first round or take a fallen first round QB (Smith, Russell, Leinart, etc) and try to see if you can get at least a solid starter that can get you into the playoffs. The second round QB is my least favorite strategy because outside of Drew Brees who was selected in what is now the first round and Brett Favre no one pans out. Ironically it's the third and fourth round guys that have a better shot as signal callers after the first, but the guys you draft in those rounds certainly aren't the type of players you bank on as the Vikings have learned with Tavaris Jackson, who though a second round pick, was drafted to a team that had everything around him (line, receivers, running game, defense).

| Re: IF We Take A QB At #10...Who Do You Want? Now I've said probably once or twice that I want the Big WR from Georgia but in this world I can't draft anyone besides a QB because that's all that we are allowed to take at 10. New NFL Rule, if your team blew the year before and the local media hates said team and everyone forgets that the team existed between the years 1992 - 1999 then you are allowed to draft any QB you want at 10. So, I would go with either Blaine Gabbert or Kellen Moore. Cam is an attractive talent and I'm sure he'll be a hell of a pro but if I have my pick then its Gabbert, Moore, Newton in that order. Let's pick AJ Green though LOL

| Re: IF We Take A QB At #10...Who Do You Want? Locker...if the Skins took Newton i think I'd kill myself, might as well trade for Romo!...that's how much i dislike Newton...lol besides just the arrogant way he carries himself, I think he's entirely overrated and in no way ready to play QB in the NFL. Newton would need at least 2 years to learn.Skin's wouldn't wait that long, neither would we |

| Re: IF We Take A QB At #10...Who Do You Want? As much as i love Newton i don't think there's anyway we draft him b/c of this quote from Kyle Shanahan about Tebow last year: Quote:
Good arm, solid mechanics, great mobility/playmaking has experience making progressions and performing rhythm based 3-5-7 step drops from under center in a pro-style offense.

| Re: IF We Take A QB At #10...Who Do You Want? I'll go with Locker despite the fact his credentials looked much better last year than this. He may be a better fit for the Shanahan system than some of the other prospects. He too has some thing he needs to work on.
