| Re: Redskins Potentially Interested in Trading Up For Gabbert the Redskins are comfortable with their safeties and tight ends Sadly, I'd have to agree with that. I wish we knew what Moss and Carlos Rodgers will be doing next year. Not to mention the possible McNabb trade and the unloading of Stainsworth.

| Re: Redskins Potentially Interested in Trading Up For Gabbert I'm not sure where you're going with that but you gotta account for spread offense scheme completion %inflation though.

| Re: Redskins Potentially Interested in Trading Up For Gabbert Do you believe this possible trade up theory? I don't buy it. If they're gonna trade up they should shut up about (i.e. not leak it) and do it. So I hesitate to even have what probably amounts to a meaning less discussion but.... I like both of these QB prospects. But, trading up imo is reckless. There is a process to team building and at the end of the day its a zero sum game. You don't get better as a team by trading away picks. As much as I like Locker and Gabbert they're not the only QBs in the draft that have a skillset that could fit our team. Why needlessly force the QB position? Be zen let the draft come to you, call everyone's bluff and sit at 10 and if Gabbert and Locker aren't there so be it. They're are other QBs in this draft and there other ways to acquire a QB and there will be other QBs next year. I agree that it would benefit us greatly if we could get the QB of the future on our roster this year but its not worth giving up draft picks we're not a rookie QB away from anything. Imo one of the benefits of having Kyle as the OC is his offense doesn't require a QB w/ elite arm strength and mobility so our option at the QB position is more open the many other teams. Heck, if Mallett through due diligence turns out to be a cleaner prospect then people think off the field in many ways he's as good a fit for this offense as Gabbert or Locker and acording to recent rumor he might even be available at 41. In fact Mallett could likely contribute much early then our guys (Locker/Gabbert). (the same is true for Ponder and Stanzi minus the arm strength) If you believe that Mike and Kyle can develop Gabbert then you should also trust his ability to do develop QBs in general. e.g. Brian Griese 3rd pick IIRC-->pro-bowl QB).

| Re: Redskins Potentially Interested in Trading Up For Gabbert If the Redskins are investigating options to go into the top five, I would imagine the target would not be Gabbert or Locker, but Von Miller. He's really got to be 1 or 2 on the Redskins draft board (depending on what they think of Green), and is probably worth a big price. But I could see a trade up into the 6-8 range, once Miller is gone, with Gabbert as the primary target.

| Re: Redskins Potentially Interested in Trading Up For Gabbert If we are trading up.... it will be to get Patrick Peterson or Von Miller, simple as that... u can't draft a qb wen u don't even know if they can get a Playbook or have a mini camp or train with the team at the facilities .... effin lockout.... in this current state, I just would not draft a qb at a high # ..... of the judge says differently and says it tomorrow? Things could change

He would instantly be an upgrade at position where we were lacking talent RDE and he could provide some 1-gap NT or pass rushing NT snaps. But, Dareus isn't Suh. And its only with the luxury of hindsight Suh that Suh is trade up worthy. I really don't get the trade up theory. In a system that has pre-assigned value why arbitrarily add more value to one random pick?

| Re: Redskins Potentially Interested in Trading Up For Gabbert I think the talk of the Skins trading up is just more smokescreens. It's believable given our history, so why not float it out there? I'd be totally fine trading down a few times in round one, landing Locker, and adding multiple picks in the process. That's actually my ideal scenario.

The Dalton indoctrination is a slow but subtle process. You see him and you're like "Ginger QB OMGWTF." The next week you're like "wow he's pretty accurate." Then before you know it you want to take Dalton in the first. I've been indoctrinated. Theres no turning back now.

Something I think a lot of people are not talking a lot about.... if there is no CBA agreement then there might not be a 2012 draft which means teams are a little leary to accept future draft pick trades. Enjoy it this year NFL fans, because there may not be a draft in 2012

They are still saying it's not a smokescreen, but that nothing is set in stone. Things are always changing in the NFL, and deals are always broken off before they ever mature. What is accurate now, may be obsolete by tomorrow. I think if FA gets into the Draft mix, you'll see a lot more stuff going on. I hope that somebody saves us from making a mistake, much like Cincinnati did when they didn't take our trade offer of a 1st and 3rd(which potential to be another 1st) for Chad Johnson. /facepalm ....or the Chicago/Briggs trade.

what other WR's will be FA's? only asking because I'd prefer to stay away from T.O. but if there is none available we might have to think of him or maybe Randy Moss.
