| Re: 2011 Draft Thread Rounds 2-3 [QUOTE=Slingin Sammy 33;799001]Don't like the Jenkins pick when Paea was still there. Hankerson is a great value pick at # 79./QUOTE] Agreed. We could have had 2 really high motor guys in Kerrigan and Paea along with Orakpo. Jenkins looks soft (fat and out shape) he better get to the gym and lift hard.

| Re: 2011 Draft Thread Rounds 2-3 No but I've seen him bench press and he could raise a lot of money for us in the teams lift-a-thon

| Re: 2011 Draft Thread Rounds 2-3 So does anyone know if our NT was Jenkins or if he's our 3-4 DE? SS, who are some of our targets tomorrow and who were some guys today we wanted but just missed?

| Re: 2011 Draft Thread Rounds 2-3 Way too many. He's strong, but it's painful watching a guy with that much ability not be able to get by your average linemen. He's lacking top end "moves" to get to the QB.

| Re: 2011 Draft Thread Rounds 2-3 Agree with SFSkin, haven't seen a ton of him playing but what I did see looked pretty good. His scouting report and 49 reps in bench sound a lot better than Jenkins' 17 bench reps and lack of stamina. Give me a guy who is tremendously strong with a high motor vs. the weakest DT in this class with questionable stamina.

"Jenkins has experience playing nose tackle as well and could see action there, although Shanahan was clear that defensive end would be his primary position." Per article on Redskins.com. Looks like he can play a little bit of both if we need him to play NT. Looks like we are still looking for a primary NT. | |

| Re: 2011 Draft Thread Rounds 2-3 2011 NFL draft: Ryan Mallett and the Patriots were among the losers on Day 2 - ESPN 3. Washington Redskins: Like the New York Jets, the Redskins often have only three to five selections in some years. Under Mike Shanahan and Bruce Allen, the Redskins kept trading back and now have 13 picks. That's fine, but they also got some pretty decent players they liked while making those moves. Jarvis Jenkins, a second-round pick from Clemson, is a big body to put on the 3-4 defensive line. The Redskins considered taking wide receiver Leonard Hankerson with one of their two second-round picks. They ended up trading down and still getting him, in the third round. Ryan Kerrigan, the first-round pick, will be the team's left outside linebacker. And to make it official, the Redskins had no plans to draft a quarterback in the first three rounds. The abundance of young players should add depth and help on special teams
