Because it is private information used for a specific purpose. Just like you might submit a school transcript to get a job but you wouldn't want me posting your transcript on Facebook for all of the world to see.

Medical records are private due to laws and regulations (HIPAA), much like educational scores from their universities. Those should be kept guarded under such and in no way comparable to a Wonderlic score.

A Wonderlic test for the NFL combine should be treated like a 40 yard dash, or a shuttle run. Those are not only public, but broadcasted on TV. So why not the Wonderlic score?

If that Wonderlic score was administered by their University, I would agree with you, but it's not. Not the same, and you are comparing apples to oranges.

Why are you advocating taking away even more of what little privacy these guys have? Just because these guys will be playing in the NFL in the near future doesn't mean we deserve access to every single little bit of information they have.

Then they probably don't need to be going to the NFL. Their whole lives will become open to the public. Going to the club? We'll know. Say something stupid on Twitter? We'll know. Knock up a few random hoes? We'll know. Fail drug tests? We'll know. Get arrested for DUI or making it rain? We'll know.


Either make it all open, or just close it off entirely which will be fine with me.

So you are saying that just because all of the physical activities in the combine are public, the Wonderlic test should be public as well? I think I would want to know specifically why should they be public, and not just a "just because" answer.

I think Claiborne's example is a good reason why it should not be public. When you get into IQ examinations, there could be a disclosure of some type of learning disability, which I think would be an invasion of privacy for the player.

I would be curious to know if there are guidelines and agreements in terms of what is private and what is not in terms of the Wonderlic and the team interviews with players. I would be curious to see if there are any stipulations by the NFLPA that allows for player privacy in these matters or if there are any NFL policies that protects player privacy.

I believe the NFL is not a public company, therefore I don't think the public is entitled to demand for information about NFL employees to be public "just because".

There's actually a lot, A LOT, we don't know. And it should (in my opinion) stay that way. More is known to the general public than needs to be known

No offense, but you still continue with your "just because" reasoning. In the end, all of the combine information is important for the teams to know and no one else. I believe if the NFL was a public company or funded by public money, then you could argue your "just because" reasoning, although even then I believe that are guidelines under the Freed of Information Act on what information can be made available to the public.
