| Re: Redskins agree to trade for No.2 overall pick in 2012 Draft In my thinking... there are 3 unique factors that FORCED the Skins into 3-1st Round Picks: A) The Browns - We just HAPPENED (our luck) to be competing with a team who had 2 1st round picks when we are trying to trade up. Bad coincidence... this drove the asking price up. B) Peyton Manning - Apparently, Peyton Manning was not going to be a backup/fallback option and our whole FO & Staff knew we NEEDED one of the "big 3 (Luck, RGII, Manning)"... this drove our buying point up. C) WR Position - We just happen to be shopping for a top-teir FA WR at the same time as this scenario is playing out. This means we had to make a deal early, before free agency starts. Hard to sell a WR on a team with no QB... The flip-side is, the cost goes up BECAUSE free agency hasn't started, with FA QB options landing with teams competing for the #2 pick. Ouch. 3 bad coincidences that just happened to hit us as this trade played out. I say... hey... they realized they had to do what they had to do to get their guy. I hate losing the 2nd round pick the most, though... but... hey... WE HAVE A REAL HOPE AT THE QB POSITION FOR THE FIRST TIME IN A LOOOOOONNNNGGG TIME!!! LET'S CELEBRATE THAT, NOT WHAT THE FUTURE PICKS "MAY" HAVE BEEN!!

It appeared to be true- Shanahan would be fired if he didn't pick up RGIII or Manning- or by some miracle another qb would have been able to play well enough for redskins to get into the playoffs. What would you have done in Shanahans place? | |

| Re: Redskins agree to trade for No.2 overall pick in 2012 Draft True, its probably less..My bad if I pissed you off. We're still wishing for the same thing which is for this team to become a super bowl winner again. We (on paper) have that right now with this QB move. Lets get a WR and CB in FA and get this offseason going!

| Re: Redskins agree to trade for No.2 overall pick in 2012 Draft The Chargers got 1st a 3rd and a 5th for Eli Manning. The Chargers got a 3rd, 2nd and Tim Dwight for Vick. We gave up two 1st and a 2nd for RGIII. Looking at the above trades and value we got ripped for sure. I hope we get multiple superbowls out of this. Hopefully, it does down as one of the greatest trades ever in our favor instead of turning the Rams franchise around. |

| Re: Redskins agree to trade for No.2 overall pick in 2012 Draft Nope. We don't have the team in place to make a run yet. I thought we were on the right path for a change to build a solid winner. Any good SB winning HOF QB in the last 20 years always had a star studded cast to help him win. Do you think we are a star studded team? We gave up the ghost for a guy with reat talent, but who doesn't have the best Wr corp or O line protecting him. If our WR corp was more reliable and the O line solid the deal would have been OK, but with the reality of the situation, this is a big ass gamble. |
