As someone who's been involved in raising money for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society for a few years, I have to say this is a really good point.
To be honest, I sort of feel the same way about Lance Armstrong.

Even if the guy lied and was part of it. who did he really hurt? Probably himself and family the most.

There is a saying for teenage and twenty something boys.

Young dumb and full of c*m.

Good point, and one i hadnt really thought of.

I just listened to a radio interview from September, after his non-existent girlfriend "died." He stated he spoke to her on the phone every night for 4 months because she couldnt go fall asleep unless they were on the phone.

So I wonder how anyone can think of supporting him, or claim he was a victim of an online hoax. Now he's saying it was exclusively online. There is no possible explanation or reconcilation between the two stories Te'o has told.

In one scenario, you have him telling a bold face lie about his relationship with his deceased girlfriend - in an interview when he is also distraught about his grandmother dying.

In the other, he DID talk to her every day, but now, for reasons that i cannot fathom, he is saying he didnt and it was online-only.

Either way, he's enough of a head-case to raise alot of red flags to NFL teams. However, alot NFL teams dont seem to have a problem spending 1st round picks on guys who've beat their girlfriends, stealing laptops, and doing drugs, so maybe making up a girlfriend is a small red flag in comparison.
