Kiper has Matt Jones going to the Eagles

I thought this was worthy of its own thread. How much would this suck if he went to the Eagles. They have the talent to keep him on the bench and grrom him. They would get arguably one of the best talents out of the draft with the 31st pick....

Matt Jones will be gone before Eagles pick. He needs to develope his blocking,but don't need as much "groomimg" as many people think.

I would like to see the skins trade down & give up Gardner for someone else's 1st round and 2 rd pick. Then take Jones with the 1st rd pick. That kid is a beast. I was at the SC vs Arkansas game last season and he has some wheels. He was clocked at a 4.3 40 and he is 6'6". He has great hands from his b-ball days and Chris Mortenson (kids goes to Ark as a backup QB) says he is the athlete of the draft. Skins should take him. He would play behind Patten, Moss, Thrash and Jacobs.Probably wishfull thinking!

If someone gave us their 1st and 2nd rounder for Gardner, I would be AMAZED! It's not happening. We'll be lucky to even get a trade partner! Seriously though, I think we can still get a 3rd round pick for him, but we'll see. There aren't many teams showing interest.

If we can get this kid Jones in the 2nd or 3rd round, it would be a steal. But I think he'll be gone by early 2nd round.

I think he means Gardner and the #9 pick, which isn't ouotrageous.

Honestly, if somehow we could end up with Jones, I'd be very happy to have him as a project.

The Eagles are exactly the team that can most afford to gamble on Jones since they are loaded with talent and cap room. If he is a bust they still won't miss a beat.

The skins can not afford to come up empty in the first round so they are the last team that should be thinking matt Jones.

I'm definitely not thinking him first round, however if we end up with a second round pick by trading down (if possible), I would like to see us take the gamble after we've address our needs at either WR or CB.

We're not in a position to draft projects, we need people who can contribute right now. Matt Jones is a beast, I remember the UT-Arkansas OT game in which he looked unstoppable.

But all of his success came under center. I think he'll be good at wideout, but probably not at first. The reason he was so successful at qb is that he was faster than he looked, you don't expect a guy 6'6 to run a 4.3. That said, I don't think you can plug him in at wideout and just expect him to be a playmaker because he's fast. Just looking at how first year wideouts struggle, on average, it'd be a big leap to think that a former qb could come in the NFL and have an impact in his first year. Look at Eric Crouch, or any of the other Nebraska qbs.

Matt Jones isnt a project. He is a stud. Dont even compare him to that Nebraska puke Crouch. This kid is faster, stronger, and taller than all the other wideouts projected in the first. He had amazing hands at the senior bowl and the combine. I swear if we took him at nine, I wouldn't be worried about it at all.

He will end up having a Randy Moss like rookie year effect on the team that drafts him. But that won't be in Philly. There is no way he makes it past Pittsburgh.

I think he could be in Dallas, Keyshawn is old and doesn't have it anymore. If thats the case I will puke my guts out.

drew, I'm with you. Not in the fact that I REALLY REALLY want him with our #9 pick, but it's one of those "I'd much rather the Cowboys NOT have him." type of things. I have this shaky feeling that Julius Jones is going to be a good back for them and god forbid they get another young, good WR.

If the Eagles are likely to get Jones, then that's all the more reason for us to take a cornerback in response.
