They lost almost a quarter of a season, and it looks like they're acting like nothing bad happened as a result of how long it took. What about all the people that lost income as a result of no NBA games being played? And I'm not talking about the players or the owners either. |

Really. The NBA is pretty much weaksauce at this point. Who would even miss it if they canceled the season? During the regular season, it's players half assing it during games, not giving it their all, and getting max contracts for being above average players. (too many to list) Also, I still believe the NBA rigs games via their officiating. I believe Donaghy when he said the refs were told, in that 2002 Sacremento/Lakers playoff series, to make it go to a game 7. It's a sham and just watching the games you can tell it. The stars get all the favorable calls, they do "make up" calls and sometimes just don't even bother officiating. It's horrible and a horrible product. I'll stick with college basketball.

Mid level exception deals are still around for teams over the cap, extend and trade, sign and trade. Basically everything that puts the NBA at risk for being a competitive joke is still around. And apparently the new luxury tax is not going to go into effect for another two years. This deal does nothing to improve competitive balance in the worst competitive team sport in the country.
