Movie: Hostel

Anyone catch this movie yet? It was one of the better scary/horror movies I've seen in a WHILE. It was the closest I've come to being sick in the theater too. There were some NASTY scenes. Anyone seen this to discuss?

TMC, how was it? It seems pretty gory. I love scary movies but from the looks of the trailer this one looks horrific.

It's horrific, and normally I'm not a person who can appreciate directing and foreshadowing but this movie was great. VERY scary and also nasty. Lots of gratuitous T&A. WOOHOO.

TMC, most Tarantino movies are pretty gory, but would say this one is on its own level?

Yes, this one sets a new bar for gore. When you go see it, just remember I said, "The Eye". You'll know what I'm talking about. In the beginning theres plenty of nudity of scantily-clad, SMOKIN' Russians.

two friends of mine went to see it and they r normally all about gore and nudity but they both thought the movie was pretty weak. I'll wait until it comes out on dvd.

I thougth it was great, i loved the Saw movies iunno if yall have seen those, but i love these kind of movies. Not as good of story line as in Saw. A lot of sex and nudity at first. Basically dont go packing across Europe lol. Yea you might wanna look away sometimes but doubt it. Movie is gripping haha.

this was a solid horror flick... i think the overall theme is pretty creepy (needless to say i won't be visiting slovakia any time soon).

i think tarantino is really into japanese shock films, because there's a lot of that influence here. in fact, one of my favorite japanese shock directors makes a cameo in hostel. if you dig hostel, check out anything by takashi miike.

Just saw it last night. It's pretty good, definitely bloody. It's in the same neighborhood as the Saw franchise, but with Saw you've got the big twists at the end where as Hostel relies mainly on the horror of just being gory. With Saw, you know what's going on, but some of the violence is left to the imagination. You see it all in this movie.

Overall, I would recommend it to any fans of scary movies, but if you are squeamish when it comes to blood & guts then there are some scenes you'll want to turn your head. The T&A was greatly appreciated, but one thing is for sure, I'll never trust hot russian chicks again.

Haha! You know when I watched Eurotrip and they went to Bratislava, I wanted to go. Now I'm not so sure...

Was it not sweet justice what happened to the Russian chicks at the end?

TMC I finally went and saw HOSTEL. Greatly gory. Story line a bit on the weak side compared to others, but I definitely was into it. The 2 chicks and the dude who were in the street towards the end; sweet redemption. Just another speed bump.

I definitely wouldnt say scary, but Id would say entertaining!
