| Silent Hill Anyone else planning to see this this weekend? I think it looks freaking awesome as hell and I'm excited despite the fact that the first game in the series freaked the hell out of me when I was younger and was stupid enough to play it in the dark, with the surround sound, and no one else home. plus a definite positive for me about this movie is that it's done by the same guy who did Brotherhood of the Wolf which if u like action movies and haven't seen it, I highly recommend checking it out at your local movie place of choice.

| Re: Silent Hill resident evil was great just like you said, in the dark late at night. It was just so exciting. I was scared as shit over a damn video game, it made no sense. I didn't want to die and when those zombies where eating my neck i was screaming and my heart was pumping. That was a good ass game.

| Re: Silent Hill Games don't translate into movie well so no on seeing Silent Hill. Man, playing the first Resident Evil was very scary and cool back in the day. It was so dramatic and scary that my mother and my two sisters would watch me play it. Man that was the good old days when games weren't repetitive clones. Now, I hardly play anything. A little NBA Live and Madden here and there and that's about it.

| Re: Silent Hill I guess I was the exact opposite as u guys. I thought while fun, Resident evil was just ok and a bit overrated, but I guess I just get more into the psychological terror than random zombie creatures popping out. and yeah resident evil on the gamecube and ps2 is pretty fun, more action based than the previous ones.

| Re: Silent Hill Resident Evil 4 for the gamecube or PS2 is insane, one of my favorite games in recent memory. If you haven't played it yet I highly recommend it. |

As to Silent Hill, I loved the game, but I'm weary about a movie based on it. Same goes for all horror flicks these days ... the trailers are always good, but most times, they're just plain dumb. | |

| Re: Silent Hill this movie was freakin awesome as crap. to be honest the ending was weak, but so much else in the movie made up for it for me. I also have a new favorite bad guy from movies and his name is Pyramid Head. what he does to one character in the movie is absolutely sick and add to that the fact that he walks around like Nightmare from Soul Calibur with a very similar sword makes him that much sweeter. I'm definitely picking this one up day one when it comes out on dvd.

| Re: Silent Hill the photography was pretty amazing in the first half. the story arc seemed to drift way off in the second half... terrible writing/acting seemed to replace the creepy atmosphere developed in the beginning. everyone in the theater was laughing at how bad the lines were at the end. nonetheless, i was amazed they were able to pull off some of those shots during the "video game" scenes. |

but there was so much freaky ass crap in that movie that I was able to look past that which I normally can't do. that was because of awesome effects like the transformation of the surroundings when the darkness comes is one of the coolest things I've seen done as were a few other special effect scenes especially when taken into account that this movie's budget wasn't nearly as much as a lot of other "big" horror movies. I think I liked it a lot cuz other than saw, I can't recall a really good horror flick I've seen in the past 5 or so years.
