I would too. If their stats are similar, I'd like to adopt a few of their changes, because it seems to work out well for them.

When I was in high school back in the early 80's guys brought guns to school hanging in gun racks in their pick ups. I can even remember checking out shot gun my buddy got for his birth day with the principle of the school. It was no big deal back then and it was not even an issue. I myself do not own a gun and do belive that a better back ground checks might help but I still believe if a person wants to kill they will.
I'm not for or against gun control but there are just as many instances where not having a gun would have saved a life. Domestic disputes, teenagers getting drunk and playing with daddy's gun (personal tragedy in my life, actually), road rage, etc.

Once again, I really don't care what the legislation is or will be regarding gun control but I don't see how one can argue the merits for or against by recounting personal events that affected that situation only. The argument works for both sides.

Not sure if this was reported here but the NATS wore V Tech ball caps last night. I pulled mine out of the closet and have it on too.

I have a rhetorical question, will owning a 9mm really prevent the government (which has just a few more and bigger weapons) from oppressing the peeps?

I was glad to see that, it was a nice gesture.
I read this morning that a fan actually wrote an email to Stan Katsen (the team president) suggesting the hat idea and they jumped on it ASAP.

For all those who wish to debate the merits of gun control laws, please direct your comments here (Gun Restrictions and Your Rights). In light of the tragedy and the fact that some warpathers are members of the VT community, let's keep this forum devoted to well-wishes and similar thoughts.

ESPN.com - MLB - Nats pay tribute to Va. Tech

Here's the article about the hats. I like the comments from Ryan Zimmerman, a UVA guy.

Quote:
Nationals third baseman Ryan Zimmerman is from Virginia Beach and went to college at Virginia Tech rival Virginia.

"It was special, especially for me, them kind of being the school we always wanted to beat, more than anybody else," Zimmerman said. "It kind of shows you how little sports mean. ... It makes you realize how lucky we have it and not to take any days for granted."

And it didn't take the vulchers long to start trying to cash in. Check eBay. I won't dignify their sales by posting them but it's a shame.

Not surprising. I remember shortly after 9/11 people were hawking 9/11 crap on ebay trying to cash in on the tragedy.

Some people have no shame and only see in $$ signs.

Re: Updated:At Least 33 Dead in Va. Tech Shooting

To quote Han Solo, the kid had obvious "delusions of grandeur." He compared himself to Jesus, said he did the act for "his children," referred to Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold as martyrs, etc. He sounded like a total idiot, "I gave you a billion million chances to stop this," "blood is on your hands that cannot be washed away," etc. The poses in front of the camera would have not been laughable had they not preceded a real world tragedy. Finally, that he planned this months in advance (with scripts to read before a camera) and sent the clips to NBC suggests that he thought he would achieve stardom.
