It does say "talk about anything" in the name of the thread.
By the way, I thought you said NO ONE hits on you? haha

I am drowning in the sea of pages contained in the Enduring Vision text book which covers American History from the Civil War to 9/11. As a former US soldier, I find the reading rather BORING!, but essential to my development as an educated person. Ok, end of bullshit begin dialog.

School F***ing sucks, no wonder I joined the Army right out of high school! Society has determined that a piece of paper is required for you to be worthy of a high paying job, because apparently you are not capable of coherent thought, nor are you trainable without it. I feel that technical schools are much more practical because they actually teach you how to perform a job. College is a waste of time and money, but due to the fact that I am determined to make more of the proverbial phat cash I will conform to the plethora of bullshit standards imposed by institutions around the world and stick it out. Once I get my degree I am going to wipe my ass with it, so I know what it feels like to wipe my ass with 40+ grand.

I know how you feel man. That's why I am soooo glad to be done with school. I don't see myself going after a doctorate, so I'm happy to end my tenure with school with an MBA.
I got a plaque a paper degree and a wallet degree...the plaque and the wallet degree might hurt to wipe my ass with!

Man I'v got another child due this week, my brothers bachelor party is on the 30th and I am the best man at his wedding on the 7th. On top of all of that I have to design a web page and read 3 to 4 50 page chapters a week in each of 4 other classes. These guys are killing me. Not to mention I work full time too. There just isnt enough time in a day.

I live right off Connecticut Ave as well, on the 3900 block of McKinley St NW, just south of Chevy Chase circle. You go to any bars anywhere around here? I was 19 last time I lived here. Since then I've only come back to visit my friends/family once or twice a year, so my DC skills are really rusty.

I usually stay out of DC. I prefer to go to the Pool Halls in Rockville. Either Winstons BIlliards or, Orange somethining I cant remember the name. If I do go into DC I am usually going to a strip club, but it is not that often.

To tell you the truth after being away for 9 years I lost touch with all of my friends. The guy I usually hang out with is stuck up his GF's ass most of the time, but I have known him since our days in Germany. I am looking to meet some new friends.

True. I work in Rockville and went to high school in Rockville. Sounds like you're in the same boat I am socially. My two best friends are in Columbia and Gaithersburg, but they're serious home-bodies. They don't like to go out at all. My girlfriend of over 4 years will be moving up here (she's still in our apartment in Gainesville, Fl right now) by July 25th. She starts her masters at George Mason in January. But I've been back for two weeks now, and I have pretty much zero social life so far.

I remember the feeling all to well. As a matter of fact I still encounter it from time to time. The weekends that I don't spend here I go down to Leonardtown MD and golf, jest ski, hunt and fish with my dad. He is pretty much my best friend. It seems like when I left the Army I left behind my buddies and social life alltogether.
