| Re: What does everyone read? Lonesome Dove was a huge deal when it was on. Robert Duvall's performance is among the greatest of all time. I love it when he says to Robert Urich?, "He's going to find a tree to hang you from, son." Masterful. Everybody I knew, and I mean EVERYBODY was watching that show.

If you want to read something really gross by him read the first story, 'Testy Festy' in his collection "Stranger Than Fiction." The worst part is that it, and everything else in the book, is a true story.

![]() Chuck's own father was obviously screwed up, and I'm sure that influenced his life. In fact, his father was eventually murdered by the ex-husband of a woman he seeing. Like I said in my first post, he's my favorite writer so I've read up on him, basically through wikipedia and some of the stories in STF.
