I do realize it's staged but I have some friends that are diehard wrestling fans that have gotten to interact with several WWE stars on a semi regular basis and Benoit was always one guy they all spoke pretty highly of in their times they've crossed paths with him as opposed to quite a few others who were absolute tools. Even though most of us don't personally know any celebs, I'd bet good money all of us see a few of them as truly good people even though they don't actually know them. No matter how anyone spins this, this was something I don't think anyone could see coming.

I understand your point for the most part, but I have to ask. Out of pure curiosity have you ever ben a fan of wrestling? Much less have you followed wrestling when Benoit was big? I guess what I am getting at is that from what I remember about wrestling, they dont go into details about the wrestler. I mean whether or not if he is a good family man or not...

If a fan feels that a wrestler is a good family man it is usually what the fan finds out about the wrestler on his own. Not what Jim Ross or Jerry "the King" Lawler say on a broadcast of Monday night RAW or what Vinny Mac decides as the out come of a match or the next story line...

Best example, look at Terry "Hulk" Hogan. When he was with the nWo, he was a total heel. But after seeing "Hogan Knows Best" I really dont think that when he was a heel that he was a bad family man, him being a heel was all part of the act... And by the way his daughter is HOT... And so is his wife for being an older chick...

Benoit has lost all respect from me. No excuse can justify what he did. And he can burn in hell for all I care.

I understand your point. I guess I just wouldn't make a comment about someone unless I really KNEW them. For instance, I grew up with Mike Glavine, (Tom's younger brother), and I knew Tom very well since he was always around...we used to all play wiffleball together. I liked him at first. After years of him having success in MLB, he became an asshole. Lots of people have no clue who he is, and to this day, people think he's a great guy cause he goes about his business very quietly and is about to hit 300 wins. He's not.

I agree 100% there.

I haven't watched wrestling since Andre the Giant / Jimmy Superfly / Hulk Hogan with a slice of Randy Macho Man Savage roamed the planet. I really started to stop watching it when I realized there was some guys in an office somewhere smoking weed and coming up with these crazy themes and schemes. To me there is definitely a part of it that is entertainment. The other parts of it are soooo fake that I refuse to watch now. I guess I just grew up and out of that phase.

Again, unless you are actually his friend, you don't know him.

haha, I never saw that. I hear he's a nice guy, but again, I don't have a clue.

I think we all agree this was a tragedy, and I feel for the families of the child and wife...but I think Chris was a horrible person for what he did, and even though you shouldn't judge someone by one act in their life, it's hard not to after what he did.

You are 100% right, but like I said, usually a fan will dig into a person's life and make up their own mind as to whether or not that person is a family guy or an asshole. Much like you said about Tom Glavin, most think that he is respectable, but to someone who knows him he is an ass. I mean look at T.O. to most he is an per-maddona, but I am sure that there are some that veiw him as a decent person. At the end of the day I guess it is just a fan's opinion.

Yes, I agree that it is a tragedy for what happened to his child and wife, but mostly his child. And for Chris or anyone to do that to a family, well lets just say that suicide is way to kind for a person like that...

Ok, this is really strange:
FOXNews.com - Web Time Stamps Indicate Nancy Benoit's Death Reported on Web at Least 13 Hours Before Police Found Bodies in Her Home - Local News | News Articles | National News | US News

It appears that news of Benoit's wife's death was reported on the web 13 hours before police discovered the bodies. That is really, really wierd.

How stragne is it that the person who editted the Wiki page was located in Stamford, CT which is where the WWE headquarters are located?

12:01am is kind of conspicuous, kinda like someone knew what happened, and waited until Monday morning to hit send...kinda like someone could have logged into a server in Stamford, from let's say Georgia to make that posting to Wiki...

Now the person who posted the info 12 hours before the death is saying it was all a coincidence.

there is no way that was a coincidence. this story keeps getting weirder by the minute. have they released any of the text messages Benoit sent over the weekend?

yeah. I don't remember them verbatim but it was really weird stuff like "The side door is open" "My adress is XXXXX" "The dog is in the garage"
