McCain Clinches GOP Nomination

On the Republican side, former Gov. Mike Huckabee, R-Ark., conceded the race to Senator John McCain, R-Ariz., who swept the March 4 GOP primaries in Ohio, Texas, Rhode Island, and Vermont.

RobH and I can't believe that we gave up on McCain back in July

Way to go McCain, you go get it. Just watch that step, we don't want you to break a hip! Better luck next time Huck, I don't know how you managed to suppress your pride but you did.

p.s. For many obvious reasons I hope Romney isn't McCain's choice for VP.

Re: McCain Clinches GOP Nomination

Glad for McCain.

...Because I'm gonna need someone to vote for if Obama doesn't win the Democratic nomination.

Congratulations to Senator McCain. This is a great man. A man of will. Regardless of what happens in November, I'm glad that the American people will be able, in the course of this campaign, to learn about the tremendous sacrifice that he and his fellow POWs offered this country.

LOL seriously. If you think its bad where you live Buster, come to a college town. Students are fing idiots, and they go around parading Paul and his "movement". Some students were at the library giving Paul stuff out, and I went up to them and tried to engage them in debate about his policies and specifically if they actually believed in his plans, or lack thereof, for foreign affairs and no one could even give me an intelligent response. The best I got was that it isn't about the policies it is about the movement.

Yeah, I think he could have done better if he just toned things down a bit and made a few changes, such as believing in evolution. Well at least he was true to himself.

Re: McCain Clinches GOP Nomination

After the hatchet job Bush's campaign did on McCain in 2000, do you think it stung to stand next to him and for the endorsement? Obviously he wants the endorsement, but it struck me as kind of funny.

I think at this point McCain somewhat needed the endorsement because Bush is still quite popular with the GOP base, which McCain still needs to solidify. I think McCain just wants the endorsement to be noticed by Republicans but not made a big deal beyond that, and I think that is what has happened so far.

Hey, they were opponents...that's what happens in elections.

Look at Clinton and Obama now and Hillary is actually beginning to suggest they team up and she's his VP if she loses! After the things she's doing and saying now? HA!! It would be entertaining though.

If Obama was stupid enough to make her the VP, he'd be found in a park dead by "suicide" before his first term is over.

Re: McCain Clinches GOP Nomination

No - that was a smear campaign. Hilary has done (and all politicians do) some stupid things, but nothing on that level.
What Bush did to McCain in the 2000 S. C. primary

I know a lot of the older generation of Black folks think that way too.

I try not to. But I don't think she'd make him VP or he'd make her VP. I feel like there's way too much of a rift in the Democratic party right now. Obama supporters aren't going to vote for Hillary. Hillary supporters aren't gonna vote Obama.

I'm pretty tempted to skip the bullshit and just register as an Independent. Because as of right now, I wouldn't really mind voting for McCain (if worst came to worst). He's moderate enough for me.
