I think Biden has always been a good guy with respect to democratic issues and I believe Obama and Biden share core principles. I really like the pick though Biden is irreplaceable in the senate.

I would tend to agree. Obama, like many "non-Washingtonians" likes to clamor about being the outsider and bringing change. But the reality is you need someone who is a bit of an insider who can help bring the change about by navigating through all the politics of Washington. It's certainly a much better choice than Chet Edwards.
