| Re: Vice Presidential Debate Thread saden, I just wish your contributions went back to something along the lines of this thread http://www.thewarpath.net/parking-lo...-energy-5.html (Understanding the Issues 2008: Energy) or this one http://www.thewarpath.net/parking-lo...ng-crisis.html (Understanding The Issues: Subprime/Housing Crisis) Not because of what your position is, but because you added your own relatively level-headed insight and opinion into it. I wouldn't be so upset if I thought you were one of those people on this board who further prove their ignorance every time they speak on a subject and should just basically be ignored.

| Re: Vice Presidential Debate Thread In all honesty Saden, I frequently do not agree with your position depending on the topic. I do however anticipate you pissing me off with well founded posts. Your reasonableness...has been tainted. Perhaps a nice colonic program with some extreme cleansing is in order

as far as the military man thing - bill clinton and george bush have been terrible for our military, and i much rather have someone with some experience there than not. obama is COMPLETELY out of touch with the military, how it works, and the people in it - at least that's my personal experience and that of those i know. i'm really sorry powell didn't run in 2000 (i know the wife story) and i'm sorry he got played by bush like that, cause he's more qualified than both of these guys combined. BOTH parties are pushing for legislation they can't pay for, both explain that they'll pay for it with things that don't come close to covering cost (mccain's death to earmarks and lower gov spending, obama's taxes and oversight into insurance companies). I much rather vote for someone to slash government waste/spending(farm subsidies, earmarks, etc), fix the big problems (massive research into hydrogen/new battery technology/new electric car tech, sane nuke laws, nuke plants, medicare, SS, actually holding execs and scam artists accountable (if china can do it, we should be able to). that being said, neither one offers even half of those things. mccain has a few, obama has a couple (though i like his push for education reform, i'm not sure his plan really fixes the problem or can even be implemented due to costs - funding no child left behind would be a good start though, and i think newt spent a lot of time on the education problem, so i'd like to read on that). neither one really has a solid economic plan that accounts for the current situation and their total policy package (obamas capital gains quotes from early on were retarded stupid though, hopefully he's fixed that), so i can't see how someone can be that hard up against mccain when neither party is offering much in the way of leadership and tough decision making. maybe that changes when they get sworn in and feel like they can finally stop pandering, but this whole process is backwards.

| Re: Vice Presidential Debate Thread Great post, That Guy! Neither are saviors and I doubt either one would wreck the country or lead us into a Golden Age. I can't stand the "since I'm pro X candidate I have to bash the Y candidate" mentality. Support you're candidate because of your belief in them. If they're strong enough they'll likely win the election. Obama actually started out a year ago with this type of anti-mud slinging message. Unfortunately, his supporters came out in full force and ignored him. There are definitely ad campaigns on both sides that are piling it on pretty thick but as far as water cooler talk goes the anti-McCain/Palin is just as strong if not stronger than the pro-Obama.

| Re: Vice Presidential Debate Thread Nice post TG. I think you are more of what I am looking for in a candidate than the others! Had you mentioned immigration reform (you may have noticed, nobody else did), you'd be perfect! The biggest shocker to me..........are these people the best we can do??? HOW can that be?

| Re: Vice Presidential Debate Thread I think Saden gets a bad wrap around here. I think he makes no more sweeping generalizations for the liberals than jsarno (sorry Js. No hard feelings. Just judging from past posts you've made that many people have tried to shoot down. I've got nothing against you or your republicanism no matter how much it makes me crazy. ) for the conservatives. It seems like people are just getting frustrated over the youtube clips, which if that's the case, seems rather petty. I'm sure Saden could back his clips up or his opinions if someone actually bothered asking instead of just patronizing him and other wise saying how far he's fallen from intelligent to lemming status.

And I don't think it's petty to get frustrated over the youtube clips. I would have much preferred saden came on this post and said "here was my take on the VP debate. I think Biden solidified his case and this is why" or whatever the case may be, rather than "here's a misleading youtube clip...you decide." That's...well that's just patronizing to the rest of us. Of course saden can back his opinions up. He's done it before, I'm not sure why it's incumbent upon us to ask him to do it again.

ps- I think you forget that I am an independant even though I certainly do not like what the left is doing. All in all, no hard feelings at all.
