| 311: Uplifter I know there's a few 311 fans on the board. I have got to admit, This is the first 311 album in a loooong time I really wasn't anticipating. I'm a fanatic, and I was really disappointed by Don't Tread on Me. That being said, Uplifter is worlds better than DTOM. Tracks like "Get Down", "It's alright", and "Daisy Cutter" show that 311 still has some talent left in the gas tank. Really looking forward to hearing a few of these songs on the road. Album has a great live feel, similar to From Chaos. The entire album is streaming on their myspace. Check it out

| Re: 311: Uplifter Don't Tread on Me was kinda meh. Evolver before that was good. I'm not big on the new song though, hope the rest of the CD is better. |

| Re: 311: Uplifter The rest of the CD is much better than the single. The lyrics on this album are the pretty lame at times, but instrumentally this one is spot on. You can really hear Bob Rocks influence. Each time I listen to the album, It keeps growing on me. That's def a good sign. Here's a good review: Everything is Empty; Everything's Awake "Uplifter contains one lingering curiosity, the likes of which I've never experienced before. Lead track and first single "Hey You" is a glaring anomaly. On a record that pushes 311 to its absolute limit, "Hey You" stands out as a stark return to form for the band in style, structure, and even production; it doesn't feel nearly as carefully constructed as the rest of the songs on the record. In all senses, it doesn't belong." There ya go Matty.

| Re: 311: Uplifter Good to hear, after one listen to 'Hey You' I was like really? They've never been the strongest lyrically, but the music rocks and is pretty up beat and fun, good summer music. I'm seeing them later this summer in Saratoga, can't wait. |

If you didn't like that song you might like Daisy Cutter better. It takes me back to Beautiful Disaster, and not just because of the lyrical reference. I think this whole CD is reminiscent of Transistor, a very underrated 311 disc. Anyway, this might get you more excited for new 311: | |
