Madden 10 Demo Now Available on XBOX Live

A week early if you are a Gold subscriber. And man, I have to say, it's really good. At first it felt like the same old Madden, but after a few minutes of playtime an experienced player will notice some pretty subtle yet significant gameplay changes. The game is slower and really feels like football this time. Everyone knows about the gang tackles, and they are awesome, but the offensive line play seems much improved as well. The players really work to open up holes, and the computer is able to run the ball down your throat for basically the first time ever. Also, the CB/WR battles are a lot more compelling, particularly when the ball is in the air.

Other than the 1 minute quarters and the fact that you have to play with either Dallas or the Giants, the only thing I didn't care for was the new play selection screen (although I'll probably get used to it).

Anyway, I'm definitely buying Madden this year. Anyone else try it?

I'll download it tonight. I'm really hoping this is the year EA puts out a killer Madden. It's been a while.

What about sacks? I feel like 09 offense was just too powerful. I could have a 65 ranked offense vs a 95 ranked defense and still score. More sacks from the DL would be nice.

Good point. I was playing with Giants, who presumably have one of the best DLines in the league, and I wasn't able to generate much pressure without blitzing. Didn't see any sacks in the one game I played. Maybe Haynesworth will be on the cover of 11 as part of new trench warfare mode or something, haha.

I am pretty happy if no Redskins end up on the cover.

Definietly downloading this a at lunch time. Can't wait. Depending on reviews on here I may break and get this years verision.

I'm not sure what to expect considering I haven't played Madden in two years. I'm pretty sure I'll suck at it as I first start to get "back into the fold" but I'll probably adjust in a couple weeks. I'm gonna check out the demo when it hits the PSN after July 31st.

I really like the feel of the running game, you can really see the holes opening up and you don't get slammed for no-gain on every other play. The graphics sure are sharp too, easily the best looking Madden to date.

^ I never got to play because as soon as I got home from work my son was really sick, got to sit at the ER until 3 am, awesome! The important thing is he is doing better. I will try playing tonight.

For the record he just had kurop (sp) really bad cough makes you sound like a dog barking and it labors your breathing which is the scary part.

By the way if you do the pre-order at GameStop you get the extended demo that has 5 min quarters and you can play Steelers v Cardinals.

Just played the extended demo... the Cards are a lot of fun to use. Talk about a high powered O.

I'm really liking the game, I think this Madden 10 is going to be a winner.

Played the regular demo. Picking between Dallas and the NYG is pretty damn painful. Still, the game does play a bit better with the speed knocked down a few levels. I also was able to throw an intermediate pass over a linebacker, which in prior years was impossible.

You can put a lot more touch on the ball which is very nice for a change.
