| Buy a beer company I doubt I'll do it, but it might be kind of fun to say you own a part of Pabst Brewing Company. Pledges start at $5.00 and then on up to $250,000.

| Re: Buy a beer company Seriously give the money to a charity, this is just plain dumb. Why not buy a comic book for $6? The money goes to help cancer reasearch. | Re: Buy a beer company I already donate to various causes, so I am not gonna feel guilty when people say that. I think its pretty stupid thing to say, no offense. Why not start using public transport, stop buying fast food, don't watch movies, stop buying games, stop smoking/drinking coffee/drinking booze. There are poor kids starving and that money could go to better use.

| Re: Buy a beer company Why when you put money towards an "official cause" it has to "good". My personal drinking is a cause, to my personal hooskins drunk fund. Why is that alright, but donating to buying a beer company is suddenly wrong?

Not asking you to feel guilty just think it is a better cause in my opion then buying a beer company. Those that you listed are not "causes", buying into the beer company is supporting a cause. Geez, talk about waking up on the wrong side.

| Re: Buy a beer company Nothing personal man, I am just wondering. They are a bunch of people ragging on the guys trying to get the bus signs against DS and VC. Doesn't make sense IMO. What is a "cause"; to me that is very subjective. IMO it is something that matters to you. All those things I mentioned, plus donating to my religious center, Salvation Army, etc. are "causes" for me. And if you want to say buying a beer company is a "cause", I can easily just say it is an "investment" for me. Just like buying a video game is an investment for my future utility. I just feel everyone thinks we need to be high and holy when it comes to these subjectively defined "causes", yet is socially acceptable to "waste money" towards goods(money towards games/booze/etc can be used for donating to the poor, for example). In the end people just spend money on what satisfies their utility. You and I donate to charities because we think it is the right thing to do, makes us feel better, etc. All those things are done because we are satisfying our desires/utility. Nothing personal again, maybe it came out wrong. Sorry about that.

I know after I left college, some of my fraternity brothers turned to Natty Boh and Stroh's because Natty Light was over $10/case.
