That picture is terrible. I didn't kill that many animals in 100 hours of Red Dead...

Keep deregulating it's working well...

Re: Exotic Animals on the Loose in Ohio after Park Owner Found Dead

Judging from the pic it is hard to imagine (and some large zoo's in the general area) that some qualified people could not have been rounded up to tranq most of these guys. I mean how many hours had they been out and they are still in the area?
It wasn't like jailbreak in the animal world. Frequently when an animal gets out of it's enclosure under similar circumstances, more often than not it just wants to get back its "home" and will try to get back voluntarily
OH WELL......just animals, right?
What a damn disgrace........

Horrible, considering how few bengal tigers are left in the world.

From the article Matty posted:

Among their goals:
  • Determining the cause and circumstances of a bite wound on Thompson's head, a wound believed to have occurred within seconds of his suicide.
  • Finding out who released a graphic photo of animal carcasses piled up outside the 73-acre Muskingum County Animal Farm in Ohio. "There was no employee of mine that had any authorization to release that photo," Lutz said.
  • Protecting the farm property from people who have flooded the Sheriff's Department with requests for the carcasses, presumably to take them to a taxidermist to be stuffed and displayed. Authorities are also investigating reports that two people were nabbed trying to steal one of the carcasses; they say that anyone caught trying to unearth the animals from their mass grave at the farm will face swift punishment.
  • Supervising the prospect of Thompson's wife trying to regain custody of the animals captured at the facility, including a grizzly bear, three leopards and two monkeys.
  • Defending law enforcement's actions to the animal rights activists that have been calling and emailing the Sheriff's Department to complain that officers should have found a better way to handle the situation instead of the mass killing of so many animals.
  • Dealing with the emotional fallout for officers who were thrust into duties they weren't trained to handle -- the forced execution of one animal after another. Then they had to explain it all to their children, whom Lutz said could face taunting and harassment at school.
So I wouldn't point the finger at the cop who pulled the trigger maybe more like their commanding officer.

From the movie I quoted earlier in this thread the lead character on the police side of the film said and I thought it was well said:

As soon as you take ownership of a exotic pet you have signed either the death warrant for yourself the animal or both of you.

Please someone watch that film I love to talk hear someone's view on it.

That's just ****ing wrong. Now I don't know all the details or how the animals were acting upon release, but if they weren't being hostile they should've been tranq'd. Why punish the animals for one prick's stupidity?

Re: Exotic Animals on the Loose in Ohio after Park Owner Found Dead

from the articles i read they seemed to have had no choice. and vets on scene agreed.

they decided not to tranqulize b/c its was getting dark and they feared that if they did tranqulize, the animals would wonder off into the dark, be untracebale then wake up the next morning.

also read a qoute from a vet who tried to tranqulize a bengal (i think) from about 10 feet away. it charged her and a local sheriff was luckily there to shoot it.
another incident a mountain lion or something charged a guy from a few feet away.

the articles i read made it overwhelmingly seem like they had no other choice, PETA even rescinded their outrage, and the vets on scene said it was the only thing to do.

What should be done is regulating this thing. the guy had a series of problems and neighbor complaints of his animals roaming free on others property, he seemed emotionally unstable, just got out of prison on an unregistered guns violations and his captivity of these animals wasnt open for public or anything . . .just real strange a guy can and would keep all these animals . . oh yeah and he had been found guilty of animal abude and neglect in the past . . someone from the local zoo said they knew somehting wrong would happen with him and all those dangerous animals just never thought it woud be this bad
