Zombie Apocalypse: What's Your Plan?

Obviously many of us are huge fans of The Walking Dead and tonight I was reading this thing on Reddit and it was just a very interesting question with a lot of interesting answers:

Being TOTALLY reactionary; suddenly the undead shows up at your door tonight, what do you do and where do you go?

I'd love to quote Max Brooks and act like I'd be totally prepared but the first thing I'm doing is grabbing the crowbar I store under the bed for burglars, a couple of knives from the butcher block, the water we store for power outages, and getting out of the house as discreetly as possible to a car.

Not knowing how widespread this would be, I'd probably have my phone on me and have forgotten my charger but I typically have one in the car. We'd head for the first gas station, fill up if possible and buy as much garbage food as the car would hold and head into the mountains where I could still get a signal.

I'd check the internet and radio to see the infection was widespread and if not, I'd go back to the house to load up on camping supplies and find a gun of some kind. Would head up into the mountains and basically just hold out until there's some other word.

Again, this is assuming NO previous knowledge of zombies from movies...

This is WAY out in left field, but I just thought this was an interesting discussion...

I think my plan would be similar to yours. I wouldn't overthink it, because if it did happen staying on my toes would be my #1 priority. I'd grab the shotty and a box of shells out of my roomie's bedroom, a couple knives from the block for insurance, some non-perishables and some water, throw it in the car, and head out somewhere like you said, probably towards the mountains or some shit. After that it's all survival mode.

I wouldnt lock any doors, scream like a girl, trip on my own feet alot, and sob as i ran to a bathroom. fetal position in the tub while trying to call the police. But the police are being eaten at the moment.

Or i would just reference shaun of the dead of i am legend, and plan accordingly.

I don't know how I would do it, but I think I'd attempt to take over a CostCo or Super Walmart and try to ride out the apocalypse there.
Like I said, I have no idea how I'd be able to take over a place like that, but I figure if zombies are real than anything is possible, and once I did secure my capitalist fortress I'd live like a king.

And tryfuhl, I don't think anyone actually thinks this would happen (at least I hope not) but every time I watch that show I am sitting there thinking how I'd deal with it and that little bastard Carl.

I would claim my best friend was dead then poke his wife. Then I try to get to Atlanta if that was over run I head to a nice little farm to hideout for awhile.

Should work.

Maybe, at least until you loss it, turn a fat guy into a human sacrifice, shave your dome, and start bashing your own face into trees. Other than that, sounds like a solid plan!

I forgot to add that I'd scour the countryside in search of a Twinkie, pick up some survivalists along the way (at least one of which would be some hot T&A), and eventually make my way into Bill Murray's home, at which point he would probably scare me into thinking he's a zombie, so I kill him, and then it turns out he's not a zombie, he was just trying to blend in.
