| Re: F... cancer Unfortunately I need to bump this thread. My grandmother passed away this afternoon due to lung cancer. I'm comforted by the fact that she was deeply religious and seemed to be ready to pass, I just wish she wouldn't have had to spend the last few months being so decimated by the f'ing disease. Even though we were ready for this day I know it's going to be tough for my Dad as they were very close. You guys would have loved her - I don't think you could have ever met a bigger Redskins fan. At Christmas we had a great conversation about RGIII's rookie year and my Dad used to get scouting reports for upcoming games. She used to get so worked up watching games that she started recording them, then she'd find out the final score before going back and watch them just to try to ease her nerves. She told me once that the night of the Monday Night Miracle against dallas she went to bed early on purpose but woke up at like 2am, fast forwarded the tape to the end, saw the final score, and decided to rewind it and watch it all the way from the beginning. She finished watching right around dawn. Apparently she made plans to be laid to rest in her Sean Taylor jersey. In fact, the last time I saw her that's what she was wearing. In the end, she was lucky enough to live a long and full life, and I know that's not always the case with the f'ed up monster that is cancer. Like I said, my grandma was a devout Irish Catholic mom of MANY children and has over 70 (maybe way more) grand and great-grandkids. Her father was an officer in the USMC so she lived in China and then Cuba as a kid. She loved being outside and used to take me and my sisters and cousins on hikes at Sugarloaf Mountain and the Great Falls. Basically, Rest In Peace Grandma, and f' cancer.

| Re: F... cancer Sorry for your loss AMD. Found out today that my uncle has cancer. They can't operate on him because the cancer is wrapped around a main artery so they'll be visiting the doctor on Monday to go through the options.

| Re: F... cancer Sorry for both your losses, Matty and AMD. Sorry I didn't see this thread earlier when it was posted. I lost my grandmother to Cancer back in '94, and I pray that my Mom will not have to go through any battles with this disease. I've also lost friends and other relatives to this disease. It's horrible, and I hope someday we can find a cure to this dreaded disease. I hope I live long enough to see such a cure.

| Sorry AMD and NC. Edit: your gram sounds like an awesome lady - of course im biased because she is a skins fan. Glad she saw such a big family grow up around her it must make her very happy. She is still watching. NC try and stay positive and prayers for your uncle.
