You are on crack. Johnston and Aikman?????? Johnston is as dumb as a friggin' wall and Aikman can't put a coherent sentence together. At least Berman has wit and Madden is a throwback. You must be a young'n.

I agree with about 90% of what you said.. I don't mind Shannon Sharpe and Madden, but the rest of them are annoying.. Berman is all schtick... Just read the damn highlights, quit with the inside jokes with you and TJ.. Dierforf, Baldinger, Mass, all TERRIBLE analysts. It's almost as if they aren't watching the game, they are just looking for places to be negative..

Next year, you will not have to worry about Berman as NFL Primetime will not be on Sundays as ESPN starts MNF and NBC gets Sunday nights.

So what does that have to do with anything? ESPN will not be alowed to show highlights because they will not be showing a sunday game?

Actually, I like everybody you mentioned. I think Chris Berman is the best, most entertaining sports news anchor in all of TV. While Patrick, Theismann, and Maguire is the best commentary tandem out there. I will be very disappointed to see them go next year. In fact, I'd rather have Sunday night football where it's supposed to be -- on ESPN. John Madden is OK, if only he could in a little less of a homosexual love affair with whoever happens to be ahead in any football game.

I'm pretty sure ESPN will still have NFL Primetime with Chris Berman on Sunday nights -- the best NFL wrap-up show on TV, IMHO. NBC will have the Sunday night game, but it doesn't start until 8:30 eastern. It has nothing to do with ESPN, who can still have NFL highlights of the day.

According to the new TV contract, no-one other than NBC will be able to show highlights of games from the end of the last 4pm game to 6pm Monday or something like that.. Primetime (or something like it) will likely move to NBC before the Sunday Night game..

Berman hasn't had an original highlight call since '91. Not being a jerk, but you must be younger than most of us.. I have been listening to him since the early 80's so his act is worn for me, it was original and entertaining then, but now it's just tired.. I don't know how you can listen to the ejaculation fest that is Sunday Night Football.. They go crazy for every single play and Maguire is so over the top for every player that touches the ball it's ridiculous..

Oh my God! How can you possibly hate Chris Berman? That makes no sense to me.

I only like Paul Maguire because he constantly busts Joe Theismann's balls...as I can't stand Joe Theismann.

Berman is unique, but he's nothing special anymore. His act has gotten old, but that is who he is. You take it for what it's worth.

I have never been able to stand Madden. To me, he's a bumbling idiot. I mean, I have respect for what he'd done, but I just can't stand him.

Most of the TV analysts out there are horrible. Until this year, I thought Stockton and Johnston were bearable...until Stockton started calling Brunell Scott instead of Mark. Perhaps Lesley Visser needs to start mashing some ginkgo biloba and ginseng into his oatmeal in the mornings.

Once I activate Sirius, don't have to worry about who's covering the Skins...just pop on Sonny, Sam and that backstabber that took Frank's job and listen to them. Even with Sonny and Sam going senile, they are better than most of the TV analysts.

wow. seems like there's absolutely no consensus with these announcer guys. it's too subjective. we even got fans praising Cowboys and dissin the Redskin in the booth! (personally i kinda agree with that tho)

i think all these guys play roles, Berman's energy is real good for the accelerated highlights (whoop!) and Madden is a throwback - on the evolutionary ladder. a lot of sports fans are too unfortunately.

i'd like to see some more 'evolved' ex-coaches in the booth, and i don't mean the ones in the pre-shows.
