| Thread title being appended to URLs Check this out: http://www.thewarpath.net/redskins-l...tml#post214927 (Apparently we will never win a SB.) The tried to create a hyperlink that just said "Skins&PsuFAN4LIFE". However, it somehow got changed to "Skins&PsuFAN4LIFE (Apparently we will never win a SB.)". Any idea why the thread title was appended to the end of the link text? Am I doing something wrong? Newfangled computer thingies...

| Re: Thread title being appended to URLs It is a product of a plugin The Ego installed. It makes all the thread pages "static"(they're not really static but the appear so to Google and friends) html pages which are much more search engine friendly. Google and the like handle differently the way they index when they get to pages like 'index.php?id='14318' versus the same thread but with the better title like '14318-thread-title-being-appended-urls.html' |

| Re: Thread title being appended to URLs OK - I see what's happening. There is a new option when posting that I never noticed before called "Automatically retrieve titles from external links". I'm guessing that when I turn it off, it will post the actual URL (or the text I put in place of the URL). So, with the option turned off, it stays as: http://www.nfl.com/ Whereas, with the option turned on, it becomes: NFL.com - Official Site of the National Football League What I can't find is how to set the default to be turned off.
