Doubtful. But just in case he didn't... Per wikipedia... "On January 15, 2003, the 49ers fired Mariucci, reportedly after the coach lost a power struggle with general manager Terry Donahue." |

Re: RI: Something to chew on (Mariucci speculation) (Update: Interview Wednesday)

Re: RI: Something to chew on (Mariucci speculation) (Update: Interview Wednesday)
Mooch is open, funny, and refreshing!
Primetime needs to stay at the NFL Network, though, so I can still have time to leave the room to relieve myself occasionally! |
Re: RI: Something to chew on (Mariucci speculation) (Update: Interview Wednesday)
Mooch is a horrible liar, and for all you freudian scholars out there, maybe
basically means yes. |
Re: RI: Something to chew on (Mariucci speculation) (Update: Interview Wednesday)
For those who haven't seen, there's a video link up on NFL.com's front page.

Re: RI: Something to chew on (Mariucci speculation) (Update: Interview Wednesday)
I haven't read all of the responses regarding Mariucci, but I kept thinking why Snyder would not announce a HC prior to the Super Bowl. If it was Fassel, then would that announcement really be a distraction. And the whole Fassel feeling "used." This means that the announcement has to do with someone still working in/around the Super Bowl. Mariucci seems like the one. I can't see them hiring McDaniels or Spragnoli (?) because they would want their own staff.
Again, typical Redskins offseason of too much time, rumors, and thought. Let's hope for the best. |

Re: RI: Something to chew on (Mariucci speculation) (Update: Interview Wednesday)
I think the NFL frowns on any big announcements the week of the Super Bowl, they don't want anything distracting from the SB spectacle.

Re: RI: Something to chew on (Mariucci speculation) (Update: Interview Wednesday)
After thinking it over I can get used to Mooch.
At least he has a SuperBowl Ring and experience with San Fran. Detroit was a doomed franchise with Matt Millen the worst NFL executive in the businesss today. He makes Vinny look like the PATS GM! |

I remember when Emmitt Smith announced his retirement at the Super Bowl during the week. I think that it does take away from the teams playing and their moment. Besides, if they wait until after the Pro Bowl then Mooch can recruit the FA's in Hawaii. |
Re: RI: Something to chew on (Mariucci speculation) (Update: Interview Wednesday)
Favre was on NFLN and told Mooch, "It's a good thing we don't play the Redskins next year."
