No disrespect to Orakpo but we should have traded down, picked up Mack and and DE with the other pick. I guess it made too much sense.
Making a trade requires more than one team of course

Brian Billick? Really? Surely you jest.

And good morning, SmootSmack!

Good morning!

Yes I jest...sort of. I just threw a name up there that isn't Shanahan or Cowher, because those can't be the only choices you know.

I'll just keep throwing names up there of guys I would not be upset to get. I really like Mike Sherman for some reason

Were you the other guy who wanted Fassell? Or was I alone in that boat?

Yeah, I think we were the only two members on the Jim Fassel Fan Club.

I really hope somebody else picks up Bill Cowher.
Same shit different year. We got issues on the line even with Thomas so this is just another thing to worry about. Good defenses will take it to our line.
Agreed. O-Line was already the weakest part of our offense before this injury. Good D's are gonna swarm Campbell again just like last year.

We can't rely on Samuels forever. Time to start stockpiling young lineman.

I was the third... Then again I was choosing between Fassel and Dennis Green.

Yeah, that's why Cleveland and Philly traded and got Mack.

I don't think Cowher would make much sense here anyway. What makes sense is to bring in someone with a WC background to make for a smooth transition. Holmgren, Shanahan, or even Gruden. I wouldn't argue with any of those 3.

I think you're missing my point. That's ok

or Billick, Mariucci, or Mike Sherman! :)

Seriously though, I can't even figure out how much of a WCO we've been running anyway.

How does Mike Sherman not get a 2nd chance? He had a pretty good W/L record in GB.

Ok, I am as irritated as everyone else. BUT Zorn has only called plays for 1 full season, and he has shown he can be gutsy/creative. I don't imagine it is as easy as he thought it would be, but let's give this guy a chance. I think the next 5 games will be his watershed moment. He either steps up to the plate, and demonstrates that he "gets it", or we let one more season slip away, and start with a clean slate at Coach/QB next year.

I think Zorn likes to see a "kill shot" call, and then when/if it fails he doesn't reload, but instead retreats to the run. The only way to get past this, is with practice and time actually calling offenses against live NFL Defenses.

I think/hope he will get it and we will rock on. Time will tell for sure.

GO SKINS

I like Shanahan here with complete control. Basically this current team is just an extention of Gibbs 2. The Gibbs 2 project needs to end. Probably the worst thing that could happen to the Skins this year is to go 8-8 with no playoffs. It will give us a crappy pick and possibly make us hold on to Zorn a little longer.

When in the history of the NFL has there been so many good coachs avaiable as there will be in 2010? We would be dumb to not make a coaching change.

Couldn't agree more, let's give Zorn a chance. The offense is moving the ball, the main problem is the Red Zone which I think will get resolved. This what JC had to say:

It's not Zorn's fault that wide receiver Devin Thomas and fullback Mike Sellers dropped passes that could have given the Redskins a 14-0 lead in the first half, but, as the Redskins' leader everything obviously falls on him.

"We just have to understand every play is big no matter what quarter it is, no matter where we are on the field, and we've got to get the ball in the end zone," Campbell said. "No matter how much we move the ball, we have to score points."

Jesus.. STFU about new coaches and QB's and try to act like loyal Redskin fans for once? Let's just see what ahppens this season, or atleast wait till we've played more then 2 games before we start calling for heads.

What the hell is wrong with some of you? lol
