Re: Chris Cooley for a 1st and a 3rd -- would you do it?
I hope all you people who are chanting for us to trade away Cooley to turn towards youth and pick up picks are also chanting for Rock to be let go for youth (Ganther) with the understanding Portis is done due to his concussion and Betts has a career ending knee injury.
We should trade Rock also for a late round draft pick....I mean it is all about youth right. |

dont you think we have a good amount of vet leaders on our offense? A bit of younger talent cant hurt; I mean we are rebuilding right?
I would trade cooley for a #1 in a second and I would consider trading him for a #2. 1st & 3rd is a pipedream.
You beat me to the punch. Before even considering trading either Cooley or Davis, why not see what they can do on the field together next year. Our passing attack may well be devastating if we upgrade the O-line.

Can you say 2 TE sets with extra blocking, passes will be flying all over. |

And nobody is chanting. Makes me think we've got some sort of monastery here. |

Full time 2 TE sets with two pass catchers do not work in the NFL. If you have two really good TE's the best thing to do is trade one. |

Re: Chris Cooley for a 1st and a 3rd -- would you do it?
If we keep Cooley and Davis, I wonder if we will move Davis outside a lot to play a Dallas Clark-type role. He's certainly got the speed to play like a slow wideout.

No, but they are both situations where we have younger guys making the case that they may deserve to be higher on the depth chart, thereby making us question whether we need the veterans (rock and cooley) on the roster at all. Cooley would definitely garner noteable compensation. Rock might get us a conditional ham sandwich in 2017. |
Re: Chris Cooley for a 1st and a 3rd -- would you do it?
To me though, as big a reason for looking to move Cooley as Davis' improved play is Cooley's trade value. Of which Rock has none

i agree, imagine Davis in the slot... That would be a nightmare match up for a corner. |
Re: Chris Cooley for a 1st and a 3rd -- would you do it?
I dont think Cooley is going anywhere because of the cap hit. But if there is no cap......

A team wouldn't trade us club level tickets for Rock. Trading Cooley is possibly an option because he is a pro-bowler but I would have to see a pretty attractive 2nd round player to justify getting rid of a stud. |
Re: Chris Cooley for a 1st and a 3rd -- would you do it?
I would trade Cooley right now for a second round pick. I think he's a great guy and a player. Davis will be just as good or better than Cooley. We don't need to great TE. Right now, we need draft picks. I don't see any other player on this team that's attractive enough for team to trade away a pick to acquire. If someone makes us an offer, I say make the trade.
