Torain steamrolled the Iggles in his one start against them last year. I would stay with the hot hand, and spell him with Hightower, especially on pasing plays to optimize our protection.

Laurence Maroney worked out for the Skins today, as did Kentwan Balmer

Why are we working out RBs?

Is TH's injury that bad? Or is Shanahan switching from WRs to RBs.

To further thin out the limited carries?

Wouldnt mind seeing if Balmer could replace Gholston along the d line

Is Balmer willing to work like Golston?
When we first traded for him I thought TH would be our 3rd down back. I'm not totally giving up in him as a featured runner, but how can you not be impressed with what Torain did last week?
That was my thought process as well when we first traded for him. I still think (when healthy) Torain is the better of the two, especially on the early downs.

Re: The Running Game

Torain.

He knows the system better, he has been more productive than Hightower if you compare their bodies of work in this offensive system - and Torain was productive even when the offensive line wasn't as good as they are now. I think 3 out of his last 4 (or 4/5) games are 100+ yards rushing.

After his performance last week, I think it would be hard to not keep him as the starter.

But, like most have said...it is a good problem to have and I wouldn't be disappointed either way.
I've been a Hightower fan but I'm seeing now that he's probably best in spurts. I'd like to see Torrain start, Helu spell him for 5-12 carries a game and Hightower as the third down back. Each has their strengths and weaknesses but I like what they collectively bring to the position. Fantasy owners be damned! You should have known better than to draft a Shanny back!
This. Exactly.
