Everyone with a lick of sense felt the exact same way you do the moment Cousins was picked. It really irked me how many people in the media were criticizing the moveat the time, saying we shoudl have selected a lineman and/or suggesting that we were creating a quarterback controvery
That's because those in the media are stupid people half of the time. Mike Shanahan knows what he's doing. Rex Grossman is a journeyman quarterback who can be a decent backup, but Bruce Allen and Mike Shanahan knows that Grossman won't be around forever. Might as well draft a quarterback. Shanahan took the best one available. That's human nature to want to talk about a situation or make a situation out to be a much bigger deal than it actually is. That's the media for you. |
I don't think ANYBODY is dismissing anything in regards to RGIII's discussion. However, relating a concussion from a driver who is accelerating over 100mph and slamming into other solid objects to a QB getting hit by another player is comparing apples to oranges.
What we are saying is, LET THE INDEPENDENT DOCTORS decide. Keeping him out a "extra" week isn't going to do jack shit if he's cleared to play this week. If his concussion was mild or minor, I see no problems if he passes the tests and some qualified expert clears him. So if they don't have a problem with it, why should you? That bit about feeling strongly about it then stop watching football didn't translate as well as I wanted so disregard that part.
From the research I could find thats not true,if you can find research different please post it.From what Ive found football players hit by a hard tackle face the same g's as a race car driver in a crash.Of course every crash and or tackle would be different, but they are in the same ballpark. "According to a Virginia Tech study, a tackle like Trufant's probably caused Lewis's head to accelerate in his helmet at 30 to 60 g's. VT researchers gather data with the Head Impact Telemetry System, which employs sensors and wireless transmitters in helmets. "We see 100-g impacts all the time," says Stefan Duma, director of the university's Center for Injury Biomechanics, "and several over 150 g's." Seems like common sense though too. |

So disappointing. Was he injury prone at Indy? I don't remember him being. |
Re: Week 6 Washington Redskins vs Minnesota Vikings Pregame Thread
Good to hear on RGIII, though I really hope they scheme to protect him well all game long (I know that's on him too). When you have a QB with his accuracy, let him drop back and pick the defense apart!!

|

Re: Week 6 Washington Redskins vs Minnesota Vikings Pregame Thread
yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa wohooooooooooooooo 30 options this week!@!@$:$L@"#L"VL!LCL!
thanks kyle |
Re: Week 6 Washington Redskins vs Minnesota Vikings Pregame Thread
Why would we care if RGIII playes so soon. By the time the affects from concussions hit him he will be retired and just a past memory. If he can spell his name (short version) he should be on the field playing. My customers don't care about the side affects from my job why should we worry about his?

Re: Week 6 Washington Redskins vs Minnesota Vikings Pregame Thread
we need this win! i have a feeling our D will play well like last week but this week... get more 3rd down stops and turnovers..
