I agree with education, which I think has been the most avoided issue in the country for 25 years. But still, higher education we still issue a ton of Student Visas per year for folks who want to come here and study. The cost is insane for higher education.

The infant mortality...I honestly had to look back but clearly remember this stat around 5 years ago because this was a favorite of folks who favor socialized healthcare. The problem with those rankings is the scope/criteria is not consistent in world wide reporting. Cuba isn't a reliable comparison...its Cuba.

I still have us ranked #1 in the world though...woot woot.
You obviously haven’t done much traveling. Lol

so i'm confused over the whole disrespecting the flag part . . . i've always been under the impression that kneeling or genuflecting to something is one of the highest forms of respect there is . . . so how Kaepernick kneeling with his hand over his heart disrespecting anything? If you go to church and stand when you should be kneeling . . . that is disrespect, not the other way around.

I don't believe Kaepernick was kneeling and putting his hand over his heart.

Just out of curiosity do you stand with ur hand over ur heart when the song comes on your television? Do you know that it was a veteran that told Kaep instead of sitting the correct thing to do is kneel if you are protesting? Lastly and most importantly do u know that Kaep is in no way protesting our flag, our military, or some song the NFL has been playing before games for like ten years? This is all some spin that donny trump (who ducked fighting for his country more than once ) is spouting out of his pie hole to rile up his base for political purposes.

Facts do speak for themselves, and there is no arguing that we are dead last among developed countries in infant mortality. Your reply about inconsistent reporting is pure made up BS, sorry. And yes, even lowly Cuba has better statistics here, primarily because they have more consistent free post natal care. We have a shameful record on health care in general, but it’s truly horrific when our poor have to withhold needed medical treatment from our kids for financial reasons.

And that’s all I have to say about that...

The anthem controversy has to be the dumbest controversy since whenever and I am a Trump supporter.

What I meant for scope/criteria is essentially measurement of infant mortality and how countries define it. The method of calculating IMR often varies widely between countries, and is based on how they define a live birth and how many premature infants are born in the country. Reporting of infant mortality rates can be inconsistent, and may be understated, depending on a nation's live birth criterion, vital registration system, and reporting practices. Differences in measurement could play a substantial role in the disparity between the US and other nations. A non-viable live birth in the US could be registered as a stillbirth in similarly developed nations like Japan, Sweden, Norway, Ireland, the Netherlands, and France – thereby reducing the infant death count.

And Cuba touts its Healthcare as much as it does its literacy rates...these IMR measurements are government control. I really hope you wouldn't want you or your partner to feel more safe having a child in Cuba...I wouldn't.

Not saying there isn't a problem and we cant improve, but we doing aight. Ill give our Infant mortality rate a half-chest pound with a subtle "'Murica". Thanks for pushing me to know the issue a little more.

Thanks for a reasoned response. The off season is getting very, very long...

Now back to our regularly scheduled football talk. HTTR. And I don’t exactly know how, but my heart says the Redkins will make the playoffs. And when they do, watch out, anything is possible. (Channeling my Cap’s here)

Couldn’t agree more, but it’s not going anywhere as long as your boy is in office. Just one of the ways he loves to play to his base.

Yup. Its called deflection. Couldn’t serve his country even though he was asked to do so in Vietnam. Couldn’t pay taxes. But boy can he put a spin on a peaceful protest against racial discrimination and call out football players for kneeling during a song. Hypocrite isn’t nearly strong enough a word for this clown.

Neither do I, it is a complete waste of time to me. Like I say and have heard Shannon Sharpe say "Nothing is all and nothing is every." Just because you feel some way about something doesn't mean I will.

Yes. He was simply sitting during the NA before he was told to at least be somewhat respectful and take a knee.
