Re: WFT's Off-Season Thread
I'm a little surprised by the Stafford love here. No chance I give up a first for him. I'd offer a 4th, knowing that that probably doesn't get it done.
That's as far as I'd go. |
Re: WFT's Off-Season Thread
The period between your last game and the start of free agency is brutal. Way easier to have gnashing of the teethe over front office decisions when there are few other team related things to discuss.

That's as far as I'd go.
He's a great QB on a bad team. He's only 32...we could get a solid 4 more years, or more. If he were on say, the Packers or Patriots instead of the Lions, he'd be considered one of the top QBs in the league. 4,000 yards every year, a 2:1 career TD:INT ratio...ON THE LIONS. He's one of 8 QBs in NFL history to throw for 5,000 in a season....again, ON THE LIONS. He'll finish Top 10 easily in all-time passing yards, could make it up to 5th if he plays 5 more years, currently occupied by Phillip Rivers. 1 Drew Brees 80,358 2001-2020 2TM 2 Tom Brady 79,204 2000-2020 2TM 3 Peyton Manning 71,940 1998-2015 2TM 4 Brett Favre + 71,838 1991-2010 4TM 5 Philip Rivers 63,440 2004-2020 2TM 6 Dan Marino+ 61,361 1983-1999 mia 7 Ben Roethlisberger 60,348 2004-2020 pit 8 Eli Manning 57,023 2004-2019 nyg 9 Matt Ryan 55,767 2008-2020 atl 10 John Elway+ 51,475 1983-1998 den 11 Aaron Rodgers 51,245 2005-2020 gnb 12 Warren Moon+ 49,325 1984-2000 4TM 13 Fran Tarkenton+ 47,003 1961-1978 2TM 14 Carson Palmer 46,247 2004-2017 3TM 15 Vinny Testaverde 46,233 1987-2007 7TM 16 Matthew Stafford 45,109 2009-2020 det |

Sources: The Steelers are planning to sign ex-first-round QB Dwayne Haskins today. Haskins is meeting with the coaches now, and if all goes well, a deal will be hammered out.

NFLN
That's pretty sweet for Dwayne. Good for him, I hope he gets his act together in a new environment. |
Re: WFT's Off-Season Thread
Good for him. Great landing spot. Hope he can stick. If so he could possibly start in 2022.

no, #12 |
Re: WFT's Off-Season Thread
Sounds like it's a 1 year futures deal, so no risk for the Steelers.
He's already got a photoshopped pic of himself on Twitter in a Steelers uniform lol  He loves being a football player but I don't think he knows what it means to love playing football yet |
Re: WFT's Off-Season Thread
Obv Haskins is still young and immature and probably the guy Ron was referring to when he said he wants guys who love the game.
But I wouldn't bet against him. He's got the talent, maybe he just needed to hit rock bottom before he realizes he needs to rediscover the work ethic that got him to the league in the first place. I reserve the right to change my opinion when the next video of him making it rain after taking an L as the Steelers starting qb comes out :D. |

Yeah Tomlin won't put up with his immature BS either...he better get it together to stay with them...he's fortunate. |
