LISTEN TO THIS!
WFAN (NY Radio station) just said that within the last hour that a "mystery team" has emerged to challenge the Jets and Cowboys for Nnamdi Asomugha. I like the way that sounds.
Yankees? |
Re: 2011 NFL Free Agency-Part 2
Would make sense coming from WFAN! :D

Guy is 100% right about it too. Let's just hope that Jerry pulls a Danny boy and blows his load of cash/cap on NA. |
Re: 2011 NFL Free Agency-Part 2
I apparently missed something on Cromartie because his coverage numbers two out of the last three years have been very good. But I've always felt he looked horrible out there. Lots of talent and no clue how to use it.
It's probably just because he's not good at pressing, and that's what hes doing when he starts on screen over a television feed. He usually just gets chucked out of the play in his first two steps. Cromartie might actually be good, I don't know. I'm still skeptical.
Cromartie was easily let go from a very good Charges defense. His last year there was abysmal (the year ended with the playoff game where he twice avoided 2 tackles). Last year I felt like he had a comeback year BUT I think he got alot of help with Revis on the other side. Cromartie has a bad habit of getting picked on by QB. I generally think he is overrated. At the cornerback position this offseason, Joseph and Cromartie are going to get vastly overpaid. |
Re: 2011 NFL Free Agency-Part 2
Ty Warren released by the Pats. That would be a great pickup at DE for a few years.

And no way he saw this coming becuase Ty was tweeting how excited he was to play w Haynesworth opposite him |
Re: 2011 NFL Free Agency-Part 2
Mystery team possibilities?
Raiders re-sign? Redskins! Buccaneers have the most to spend of anyone. 49ers not really out? PATRIOTS? Please no. Or, is Nnamdi's agent trying to drive up the price and urgency?
The Jets are bending over backwards to get Nnamdi... Kevin Fishbain RT @RichCimini: According to source, #Jets have made Bart Scott, Calvin Pace, LT and Brandon Moore take pay cuts to make room for Asomugha. |
Re: 2011 NFL Free Agency-Part 2
I would think having Revis on the other side would tend to hurt the other CB. After all, the opposing qb's are going to throw against the other CB and avoid Revis whenever possible.
|
Re: 2011 NFL Free Agency-Part 2
I don't think Cromartie is that much behind NA as far as talent
I disagree. Nnamdi can press, be physical, and tackle in a way that Cromartie can't (or won't). |

Kevin Fishbain RT @RichCimini: According to source, #Jets have made Bart Scott, Calvin Pace, LT and Brandon Moore take pay cuts to make room for Asomugha.
Just heard that on the radio (WFAN). Also, Brunell took the release to free up cap room and will be brought back after Nnamdi is signed. If the Jets don't get him, it will be as embarrassing as the Knicks not getting LeBron and the Yankees getting snubbed by Cliff Lee. They're doing all they can. If Dallas ends up with him, they would have had to dismantle the team to get him and will be full of so many holes all over their roster by tying up so much of their little cap room in one player. They started in a huge hole with the new salary cap. :) |
Re: 2011 NFL Free Agency-Part 2
Just got this from Armando Salguero from the Miami Herald, sounds like this came out of nowhere...
Armando Salguero BREAKING: The Dolphins have cut LB Channing Crowder. A source is telling me the Dolphins are cutting ILB Channing Crowder. Crowder was scheduled to make $5M this season in final yr of his deal. |

Is 30, has hip problems. Wants to play for Dallas or Houston. Failed a physical, so pass. |

Re: 2011 NFL Free Agency-Part 2
UDFA QB Adam Weber headed to Denver. I think he's got a shot to be more than just a camp body
|

Bowen got a better way deal than Spears.

I also want Ty Warren to sign with Dallas so Cullen Jenkins has no choice but to come back to us at a cheaper price. |

Less money for Nnamdi: Cowboys reached agreement with Marcus Spears on a 5-year, $19.2 million deal. |

Lol true! Jenkins needs to fire his agent!

I'll be relieve when the Jets sign Nnamdi. I do not want to see him in the NFC East. |

I'd take Dallas signing him. That would mean they would neglect a few holes (DL/S/OL) just to sign a big name, and mess up their cap for years to come. Damn straight I'll take that...lol |

Exactly. I know where that road leads to and it usually goes straight to the bottom of the NFC East. :Flush: |

I'll take the safe route and hope that our arch-nemesis doesn't end up with the best CB in the league. Although good point. |

NA won't be a problem We can run Torain to his side when its 3rd and long and tell everyone to dive at his knees. Perfect plan to hurt the Pukes. :D |
Re: 2011 NFL Free Agency-Part 2
Well, hopefully they are thinking that we don't get him..it would be nice but not going to worry if we don't. I would rather see them blow it on needs than one single player ..and this is my opinion on rex, if they didn't have someone else in mind be would be signed. Same as J brown.

I would put Nnamdi slightly above Revis. But hey, we may find out what it will be like with those two playing together! |
