And they paid slightly more than what Welker got at Denver.

Probably just a dislike for the team , coach and that they have won a ton of games. I just happen to not like the team .

what's to hate about the guy? He's a great great QB and has won many rings. He's never been in trouble legally. So what he cries about some stuff, so does peyton Manning

I've had a distaste for him since the massacre in Foxboro in 2007.

I was a big fan when they were on their intial run.

I don't like him because he doesnt play for the Redskins. I respect him as a player but if you don't wear the burgundy and gold on Sundays, I dont like you. Simple as that.

I'll hate Vinny far more than the Patriots for that fiasco.

I agree. I think the hatred has alot to do with the fact that he is a multi millionaire hall of famer with an extremely hot girlfriend. I dont hate him, I just hope i come back as him in my next life! (Except as a Redskin of course). Lol

That was one our best years out of 15. We made the playoffs, even with the loss of Sean Taylor. Vinny was looking ok after that season.

Amendola: 12 games played the last 2 seasons, 3 td receptions, 2 fumbles lost = 31 millions dollars.

Good luck with that NE. Welker woulda come back for 2 years 14 million...

Which is the better play?

Welker is 31 while Amendola is 27.

That's the only thing I can come up with.

How often does the Patriots over-pay for a mistake? This could have a huge upside for them. Sucks to be Welker though.

Lol well I cannot say for everyone but I don't hate him, I simply dislike him for dumb reason, he always win. He is great QB with fierce competitiveness, but I really think staying in same offense for years also helped him to appear as one of best QB in NFL history.

I think Bill needs to have his power checked. A lot of his recent personal decision making has not been great. Still a top 5 team in that category though, just not at the top like they used to be. They still do not know how to scout a corner.

I think you could say that about Joe Montana, Steve Young, Aaron Rodgers, even Manning although he switched teams. I think once a coach finds a great QB they make their offense around that player.

Plus the Patriots offense has changed pretty drastically over the years. In 2002 ball control move the chains offense keep the other teams defense on the field, win with clutch play at the end. In 2007 3 receiver set score as many points as possible, downfield passes to Randy Moss. In 2012 Two tight end set (when they were healthy) and run the ball and run as many plays as possible. I think their offense changes based on their personal a lot.

Good points.. What prompted me to believe that Brady has the advantage of staying in same offense is right after the year Cassel played as Chief in his first year. Cassel looked like a decent QB that could improve within time in NE until he was traded to Chiefs and he didn't looked same as he was in NE. This is something that have been debated before and will always be. I guess all we can do is share our opinions.

For the offense changes on NE through out time, of course the offense have to change from time to time or otherwise all other 31 teams will be able to stop them. But I believe think the changes are not that big, just different players running same routes from different positions. Just like Redskins offense, they give you lot of looks but routes are similar.

Also the fact that Tom Brady should help his production - i expect Amendola to have alot of games resembling the one he had against us over the next few years.

I don't get why they would sign this guy for basically the same money Welker signed in Denver. Doesn't make good sense.

As Redskins fans, we're the last people who should be criticizing a signing because of injury history. Our quarterback may not make it until he's 25 at the rate he's going.

Anyways, I hate the signing. Too much focus on getting younger when the reality is your quarterback is getting much older and as long as it's Tom Brady's team, who cares about age? Bring in the best player, give your team the best chance at winning a superbowl. Welker does that, Amendola doesn't.

we didnt sign Griffin in FA though bud...

We have all the room to talk we never signed a guy like that from the FA Market.. sure weve signed guys who underperformed but nobody stands out in my mind that we gave a big check to with extensive injury history.

Yep, lets cut him now and start Grossman because he knows the system. Save that money and use it on the grass at Fed Ex.

Well yes, but thinking it's funny that AMENDOLA may not play 3 of the 5 years he signed for while our entire future hinges on Griffin's knee is ironic.

Heres whats going to happen. The pats are going to be great at first with Amendola, everyone in New England is going to be like Wes who? Then Amendola is going to get hurt somewhere around games 4-6 and be out for 4-5 weeks and they'll slump again, then Amendola will come back and get hurt again. New England will still make the playoffs, but Manning will torch them with Welker, Decker and Thomas, all the way to the Super Bowl where they play San Fran.

They needed a CB, S, MLB, and DT. DRC, TBD, TBD, Terrence Knighton. They should just draft the other two.

I agree with the injuries, Broncos will lose in the playoffs though, again. It will be either New England/Pitt vs ATL/GB. It seems like one of those years everyone will forget about Pitt and they go and win the superbowl.

Who does Pitt get to replace James Harrison, Casey Hampton, (maybe) Keenan Lewis, Mike Wallace, Max Starks, Mendenhall. Add to that the fact that Polamalu has been getting hurt more, and Heath Miller is coming off a torn ACL (he may be a FA too..?) I just don't see it. I see Cincy winning that division. Hell even Baltimore I can see being better than them with all their losses.
