Re: 2024 Early Bird Draft Thread
Articles in New England now basically saying “Daniels won’t play for the Commanders “. Lol. Ok.
If he's drafted by the Commanders, that's where he'll play or he can sit out a year at age 25 and re-enter the 2025 draft at age 26 and hope that nothing bad happens to his health in the meantime. Also, he won't receive the millions of dollars that he otherwise would have received from the Commanders while he waits. Does that sound like something he would want to do? The articles are New England fantasies. |

That will probably be necessary if we want a Left Tackle who can start as a Rookie. |

Really haven't delved into the QBS or any players, so I was surprised when you said Daniels was already 25. I'd think I'd prioritize Maye over him for that reason. |
Re: 2024 Early Bird Draft Thread
JD turns 24 in December.
The misinformation and speculation about these QBs, and the draft in general, is out of control. That's normal for this time of year. It's so hard to believe anything that is being reported these days, including the reports about JD being a lock to be the #2 pick. |

Nevertheless, if the Commanders draft JD I think he will play here. It makes little sense for him to do otherwise. If there is any show-stopping issue with him, then I feel the Commanders will either get it ironed out before the draft or go in another direction. I like the idea of JD as our QB but I'm on board no matter what they decide to do with the #2 pick. |
Re: 2024 Early Bird Draft Thread
I cant wait for Thursday so we don't have to talk about these QBs and all of these scenarios anymore
“The signs continue to point to the Washington Commanders taking Jayden Daniels at No. 2 in the NFL Draft,” per Adam Schefter. |

Re: 2024 Early Bird Draft Thread
If Shefter ends up being wrong then we'll know this front office is buttoned up even tighter than we thought.

I misread this when i replied no way. I was thinking you meant OT instead of QB. I wasn’t really thinking obviously. Yes trading back into the first after we grab our QB is 100 percent on the blocks imo also. |

He's usually right and has been saying this for a month now.. I don't see how its not JD5 at this point |

I suppose if I had to place a bet, I would probably put it down on JD too. While he's not my preference - today, I would be fine with it. |
Re: 2024 Early Bird Draft Thread
Are all four of them going to be on the team? Cause if they are then cool. We're set at QB for a while. ..lol. But if not then what's the point? Are they trying to see which one talks more than the others? I don't give a crap about all this stuff. Who can beat the defense on 3rd and 9 is all I care about. Who does that the best? All this other stuff is such overkill.
If you don't know who your guy is at this point then this would concern me a bit. You have had all this time to evaluate these guys. You should already have them slotted by this point. I'm still on a wait and see approach w/ Peters and Quinn. As we all should be.
personality wise there is a TON to be learned in a fun, competitive setting vs sitting by yourself talking to the Commanders brass behind a closed door. I think its great as personality means a ton and is hard to gauge in such stiff, rigid settings. |

Which is why they should have had a keg party. |
